It can happen, and that's one type of person. There are also others who are just about as brand-sensitive to another make and who part ways because you bought "the other brand." Both demonstrate a type of personality that you probably won't miss.

Just a financially irresponsible guy who makes my same salary wishing he could buy one couldn't remain buds with someone who did.

...........life is simpler that way. My wife and two girls are all that I need..............

I do however catch a lot of jealous envy from my coworkers though. I'm the lowest paid person in my division and I have four cars..........one being my 2013 GS A6 (big cam wonder).

Were they really a "friend" if that's all it took to lose them?

I have a buddy who is no longer married due to his ex's envy of his love for cars in general. He has a C2, a 34 Ford, and is currently building a Factory Five Cobra with his two teenage boys. He spends a lot of time in his garage, and she resented it, and wanted no part of getting all dirty and breaking a nail. She said, "It's me or the cars!"
I guess the cars won. He and the boys are quite happy.

That's easy.... that's where a real friend tells him to pull his head out of his arsh and stop being financially foolish and then he too can own a vette.

I have always been a "car guy" with at least one project in the works. Before I got married I told my wife "the cars were here before you and they will be here after we are both gone". I did buy her a C4 Vert (I can hear the comments now ) to bring her into the hobby, but I made it very clear that the cars were not going anywhere.
