The Theft Deterrent System lamp is on. The Owners Manual says "If this light stays on while the engine is running the vehicle needs service."

WTF does that mean. What service. Where to look?

You may have a low battery. It doesn't have to be very low to cause all kinds of problems. Check this thread,especially post 9:

Thanks. Thought I would follow up.
This was the first time I was using the Actron auto scanner. I tried to follow the directions but, being fumble fingers and not sure what I was doing I went thru the menus and tried out some of the features. The results cannot be described but I saw 150mph flash on the Display, some other stuff that is not important because on my trip home I restarted the engine and all warning except for the security lamp went off. Next day after two starts it started to work normally too. So I have no problems except the dimmer switch. Will post that later.
