Light stays on with the DIC

Light stays on with the DIC
I need help. My 08 Z06 has been problem free until today. I drove it a few miles with everything working as always. I was out of the car for about 20 minutes. When I restarted the car a "Service Active Handling" warning came on and stayed on. The best I can gather from the owners manual is that it is to help me control the car if I go bat **** crazy. Do any of you know how important this is and if repair is needed what is the ball park figure on the charges? Thanks for any and all help! Doug

Well you can start by reading THIS thread. Pretty good info in there.
Thank you for your suggestion. I see it looks like it could be a very serious problem. Since it just happened to me this afternoon, and my brakes operated normally I am a little confused as to if I have the same problem as the posters on the site you sent me to. Trying to decide if I should go pay the dealer $110 for a code check.

I've trouble shooting this issue as will. Although mine is intermittent and isn't on all the time. I've hooked up a programmer and it says there is a problem with one of of the wheel sensors. I haven't had time yet, but the next task is to pull the wheels off one of the time and clean the connectors where the wheel sensors are. Heard that "female" connector goes flat not allowing for the "male" connector to make good contact. Which sounds like my issue. Since when I hit a bump or drive on a rough road, it will blink on and off.
Others have commented that it can be a loose spark plug wire as well.

Spend the money on a code reader and thereafter you can check codes yourself.
The light means that codes are awaiting retrieval. We can guess at what they might be, or hope they don't recur and wait for the lamp to clear, but the goal should be to find out what they are.
Note that most generic code readers will not be able to see ABS/TC/AH codes. You will need a slightly more expensive reader to get them.

Never had the problem on my C6, but did on the C5 after I'd made a couple of hard turns (into and out of a gas station). But it cleared up fairly quickly when I got back on the highway. Perhaps yours will too.

I hope he's wrong.
Depending on specific DTCs, the lamp may well reset after so many ignition cycles without the fault recurring - and then you'll never know what it was. All you'll know is that something is flaky in your AH system. Ignorance is not bliss.
When a warning lamp illuminates, the goal shouldn't be to make the lamp disappear. You can do that with black tape. The goal should be to be to retrieve the DTCs. Personally, I don't think they should ever clear on their own, but that's how the system is set up.

Just wanted to update all that helped me on this matter. Went out this AM and everything worked fine. No warning lights of any type. If it happens again I will have to do something but for now I don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth. Thanks to all.
