Road Trip
#21
I am in the middle of my 2016 Road Trip where I am pulling my Harley with my 2008 Z06. So far it has been 6500 wonderful miles from Texas to SOCAL, up the coast and over to Kings and Yosemite NP.s, Napa onto Seattle. This past week I drove through the Canadian Rockies from Vancouver to Banff then down to Glacier NP and onto Jackson Hole. Next week is Yellowstone and Sturgis. This is the perfect RV setup for the mountains and open roads and provides many options. I love the ability to pass motor homes on the long uphills. Good Times!
Just did a road trip starting in Kansas with the GS -- we went thru Sturgis just as they were setting up for the busy coming weekend.. lots of early arriving Harleys tho , did a couple of side trips including into Deadwood and a couple of side roads in the Black hills. and then back to home turf Seattle.

I use my 95 not only to autocross but to tow my sons SCCA gokart on a trailer all around the Great Lakes Division. Get plenty of thumbs up and people taking pictures as they or we drive by.

I don't want to be the 1st naysayer here, but I will use my Silverado as my tow beast. Per the owners manual, does Chevy even recommend towing anything with a Corvette? just asking... beautiful pics by the way

I have had Sheriffs and Troupers come up and to a man say " That is the first I have ever seen a Corvette pulling a bike". So far we are just shy of 8,000 miles on the Z06 and over 2,000 miles on the bike, and we are just over half way through.
Stayed at the 112 year old Old faithful Inn in Yellowstone.

Looks like a great setup you got there. Hope our Central Valley heat wasn't too much of a downer. I'm sure you discovered that when you get up into the foothills and mountains, it's nice. Safe travels.

Love my Curt hitch, and trailer that I custom designed and built myself.

We shot through Fresno from Big Sur /Monterrey straight to Kings Canyon/Sequoia NP and Yosemite to minimize the heat, though the Yosemite Valley was 100 degrees on the floor. We parked the Corvette there and road the bike over the Tioga Pass to Mammoth Lakes for the night. The Z06 pulled the trailer effortlessly through many thousands of feet of elevation changes during that 4 day portion of the trip.

It is amazing just how much you can pack into a corvette to make the evenings pleasant for the wife.

I wasn't sure that my wife would take to the camping either, but I managed to pick out some cool places to pitch the tent when we did. Kings Canyon, the beach at Mendocino, Crater Lake, Oregon and a few others. And when we did, we tried to make a feast of it.
