Non Run Flat Tire Recommendations
I have original Goodyear run-flats on my 06 convertible. Drove it to the NCRS convention in Rhode Island several weeks ago, a 3500 mile round trip.
I decided to pull the wheels to clean the wheel wells and backsides of the wheels after I got back. When I did, I found that the front tires were worn down to the steel cords.
So, it's time for a new set of tires. I want to buy all 4. I don't want run-flats again.
I'd like to keep the cost in the $700. to $850. range for the cost of the tires, NOT mounting, balancing, etc.
I've had recommendations for Kuhmo, Goodrich, Firestone, Dunlop, Sumitomo, Nitto, and several others.
I want nice, quiet riding summer or all season tires. I live in Florida, so there's no real cold weather. I'm not a racer or autocrosser. Not interested in super high performance sticky tires, etc.
I'll probably keep this car for another year or two before trading "up" to a C7, so longevity isn't a concern either.
Thoughts? TIA.

I normally only put 2000 to 3000 miles per year on this car. This Rhode Island trip was an exception to that rule.
I bought this car 4 years ago with 20K miles on it. It now has 34K miles, so that averages out to 3500 per year, but if you remove the 3500 mile trip to RI... that cuts the average to 2625 per year.

I have COOPER ZEON RS-3 on my 2013 GS. Very pleased after 6k miles so far for the total $875 spent including road hazard, etc.
They also make an all season RS-3A that is probably available for base model.

i didnt read your entire post, so since your not as concerned with performance ill vote for the continental extreme contact dws that i have. the highway ride is super smooth and quiet and they are $153 and $255 on tire rack right now. my only complaint is they squirm around but sounds like that shouldn't be a problem for you.

I have Continental Extreme on CUP wheels, so I am sure the smaller size standard tire is probably cheaper. But I am extremely happy with them. While they might not be the stickest, or the longest lasting tires. They offer a good compromise between price and performance. I have around 8000 miles on them in a little over 3 months. Two drag strip events and a bit of spirited driving. For a street tire under 500 rwhp they seem to work good in dry and wet conditions.

Stoney Wide Oval non run flats here. Seem fine for me. Handle fairly well....not too noisy, if that matters (it is a sports car).....and they look decent (if that matters). They also are not quite as expensive as the popular ones you hear about in this forum....Michelin...etc. While they probably aren't the greatest tire ever made, they are a very good tire and should be fine for your driving style.....good luck.

tires
I went fr run flat to Michelin Super Sport. I was talking to a Michelin rep in Greenville South Carolina and am told they are coming out with new tires for Corvettes in Oct or Nov. Mines a DD and will need them before Dec so I am waiting. My service tire monitor lights have been coming on the past month but no sense breaking down the tires for new TPM's twice and take a chance on messing up the wheels.

LOTS of different opinions. I was hoping for a consensus.
This Corvette is what I call my "Corvette Club car". It gets driven to "eat and rides" and other Corvette Club functions. It's not a show car, but if my club is going to a show, I'll enter it.
It'll sit in the garage on a float charger for weeks at a time, sometimes longer.
As you can see in my signature, I have several old cars that occupy a lot of my time..... and use up a LOT of my play money.

I run Continential DWS on both my Corvette and Audi. They're a great all-season that rides well, wears nicely, and is useful when the weather gets bad here in Maryland. My friends use them on their BMW coupes as well. They're not that expensive, I paid $900 for a set from TireRack in September of last year. Since you're in Florida and don't have to worry about snow, maybe the DW is better suited for you.
