Very interesting thread. I carry a 1911 V-10 ultra compact 45acp. IWB "Sticky Holster" Why? Because they don't make a 46. Been thinking about all the comments and while driving I stick it between the seat and center console. Very reachable but a hassle always handling it getting in and out. Will reconsider that now and leave it holstered. BTW I teach gun safety and am an "Appleseed Instructor". Look it up a great organization that teaches Rev. war history and shooting skills. Love this forum

.380ACP KelTec on my person. I'm not going to leave any gun in the car for someone to steal.

However (and I know I'm in the wrong generation thread here), the C4 has three locking gloveboxes (one is the center console) so I have options

Was on a trip with the wife through Colorado, coming back from OKC to points northwest and we wanted to stop at a tourist trap place. Saw a sketchy-looking guy watching us very intently from his vehicle, so we moved to a different stop. So did he. So I started driving around town (not in the Vette), and he followed us. I started wishing for the .45, but all I had was the .380. You can bet I had it out and loaded.

Yup, I said "sketchy-looking"; I got a weird vibe from him. Nobody stares you down like that normally. There's nothing interesting or flashy about our family car.

We decided discretion was the better part and all that, left town. The next town, there was a phony cop car (you could tell by the paint job) running "radar" on the main road. What the hell? We never stopped, just kept going till we were on the other side of the mountains. Weird place. Glad we had at least one gun. Nowadays on road trips I have at least a 45 with me, since that will punch through a car door where a 380 is more of a "gut gun" and not much else.

And now here it comes: "When seconds matter, the police are only minutes away." Love the Blue Boys and Girls, but they can't be everywhere.

I say this when people ask if I carry at work. Of course I do. I'd rather be alive and fired than dead and employed.

BTW this thread is a lot more civil than the one over in the C7 forums...

Agreed! My mantra is that I don't want to die for lack of shooting back.

That said...I carry my P938 at 3 o'clock, but enjoy the fact that it fits perfectly in the cubby hole behind the DIC screen.

Since the C8 is supposed to be mid-engine, there should be extra room where the tranny tunnel would be. Maybe GM will consider saving some extra room for the 2nd Amendment in the car.

I've been keeping mine in the driver side door map holder. I carry a Glock G43 so its pretty small. I usually keep my pistol and an extra mag in the map holder and another mag in my center console.

People complaining about the right to bear arms why are you so scared of guns? I'm more worried about cell phones have you seen how dangerous those things are in a car! I am waiting on my CHL to get approved currently. The longest 6 weeks of my life!!!

Damn I love Texas!!!! CA wouldn't even let me think about guns!

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone any day!

When I drive, my personal conceal carry and my cell phone stay holstered the entire drive time. I love AZ in the same way.
