Default Any ideas on light removal

I recently replaced the interior lights with LED's, but in the process I busted one of the rear view mirror light bulbs , would like a few ideas as of how I could get the base of the light bulb out since i can't reach the bulb?

I actually tried the needle nose pliers method when it happened but still didn't have any luck when it came to pulling the base of the light out. The bulbs are in there pretty good even when it can be reached by hand you have to pull pretty hard, the base of the light is flat so i don't have any room to grab anything with tweezers

The best thing that worked for me is to use painters tape or even duct tape. Wrap it around the bulb (in your case, the base) and leave some excess for you to pull on. Both of my map lights came right out with this method.

This method did work great for the other light that is not busted, it came right out. But for the drivers side the light is shattered and only the base of the bulb remains still plugged in. My problem is that no tool or my fingers can fit through the hole to remove the rest of the shattered light.

May sound weird but when I replaced mine on my first C6 I used dental floss. Just made a loose knot and put it around the light, then pulled the thread to tighten. After a couple pulls the bulb came loose. I read this idea somewhere on the forum years ago.

As mentioned by another post....needle nose pliers....hemostats. Just keep working it and you'll get it out. Might be a good idea to hit the socket with a vacuum when done to get out all the old bits and pieces you're gonna leave after all the pulling and prying.

Or fishing line wrapped around the base.

Try removing the mirror from the car and working on a table or something, I think that would definitely help.

Maybe some epoxy or gel-super glue on the end of a small dowel rod, let it set up and then pull.

Try Circlip Pliers if you have one (the tips spread when you squeeze the grips).

If there is enough bulb left used a small zip tie, that's what I used on mine. Have the loop started then tighten it up when you get it around the bulb.

If all that's left is the socket, the curved dental pick may be able to hook it and pull it out.

Take the mirror out so you can have some room to work on it. You'll be able to try a whole range of tools or processes without damaging something else.
