Renting a Corvette
I recently took a trip and had to rent a car. One of the drives was about an hour and a half in the POS rental and I spent the whole time thinking how much better my car was at home. So are there widely available companies like Hertz or Enterprise (company doesn't matter so long as it is available in several cities) that rent Corvettes? Have any of you done that? Did you think it was worth it?

Hertz rented Corvettes at one time, probably in select larger towns, but I don't know if they still do or not.

My neighbor rented a C7 vertte for her husbands bday for 2 days, it was $190 per day with 50 miles max per day. I think it was hertz and once the season starts in FL it us supposed to go up to $350 per day. Expensive!

Ahh, the 2008 Hertz Corvette ZHZ. Yellow with the black stripe and 7 spoke chrome rims in either targa or vert. Something like 500 were made. Saw very few drive through town back in 08-09. All were eventually sold off. I haven't seen one in person since but remember members posting that bought one.

Hertz gives me a Corvette once in a while.
I am five star president circle with them... I haven't ever had a mileage limit.
I usually put 200-300 miles on a rental in a day to and from an airport.
My contract and company plan with Hertz both state unlimited miles and out of state.

Hence if you do need to rent a car for a day, use it to your advantage to pick up a car that you want to test drive instead. I end up doing mustangs a great deal to still see if they still have problems, but will grab a 911 or such if I end up in Vegas for the day or weekend instead.
As for a rental vet, will still have the OEM tuning and programming, and see no fun in that, after spending a month going through my own to set it up the way I like it isntead.

Google tells me:
Avis Signature Series
Exotic Car Collection by Enterprise
As others said, I imagine availability varies by location. If you reserve ahead of time, I imagine they can get the car anywhere you want.

National has them on their Premier fleet in most major cities...I had a BMW 6 Series convertible in Boca a few weeks ago. Still prefered my Vette...

Avis rents them in Orlando, that much I know. Years ago, I rented the white/black top/black interior (shown) in Orlando for a 7 day trial only to come back home and buy my own of the same version. In 2015 I rented the shown yellow C7 in Orlando. Paid in advance with some CDP (Avis' discount code) code to get the extra savings. 7 days, unlimited mileage, about $9xx with taxes. Well worth it if you're considering buying one, as you get a true, long term test drive.

I rented one in Phoenix about three years ago before buying my car to make sure I wanted to make the investment and that the car was all that I hoped it was. It was about $150.00 a day and confirmed that it was time I owned one! In my opinion it was money well spent.
In your case however your need isn't to learn more about the Corvette before purchase, its to get out of the typical POS rental so you'll have to justify the cost.
I don't recall the name of the company but they also had a daily mileage limit with a per mile cost for going over that. It may have been Budget. They only had two to choose from but that was enough for me.
