Mostly, yes.

Except when the attention is some jerk who wants to race. I'm a cruiser, not a racer, but it is tempting some times to show them what it can do.

I don't drive a Corvette to attract "girls" but when they look and see an "old dude" driving I usually get this reaction.......

I'm not sure where you live, Corvettes are a dime a dozen in South Florida and nothing special. Women are attracted to money, pull up in a Lambo, Ferrari, or an SLS Mercedes.

Not really, it depends where you live. When I lived in South Florida they are a dime a dozen, no one cares. Up here in hell errr WI they are like a Ferrari or something. I love nice cars I throw quick three word compliments and move on, I don't like to bother anyone. It bothers me when people stop and talk, I feel awkward.

I do like getting thumbs up and kids yelling "nice car" "cool car", because that was me when I was a young kid, but the cars were C4's, Iroc Z's TA's Formulas and GTA's. Everyone was always cool.

Kinda bad news to fellow Vette owners, including myself. My '87 IROC 350tpi got more attention and still would. Just the way it goes.

Driving my 08 vert back to South Dakota last weekend from Wisconsin on I-90W, I had the cruise set at 75 and up next to me pulls a MN state trooper who is now matching my speed so we are cruising together side by side.

I thought oh, oh, I know the official speed limit is 70 but is he going to bust me for doing 5 over? I look over at him after a bit, he smiles and gives me thumbs up and increases his speed and drives off.

I'm not sure if he was giving me thumbs up because I was traveling an acceptable speed limit, of is he gave me thumbs up because he was checking out the car and liked it.

Either way, no ticket is always a good thing.

I'm glad he didn't pull you over because 5 over is "minimal" and it's the "bobbers" and "weavers" at 70+ on the multi lane interstates today that I think are causing more accidents!! ....seems to be MUCH more of that kind of behavior now than when I got my first veto back in 02

Here in Orange County, CA, I get a lot of idiots going nuts next to me by coming along side and flooring it only to slow down so I can join in but I refuse. I also get a lot of guys next to me taking off at a stop light only to get stopped at the next red light as I roll on up alongside them. I also get a lot of dorks who come up behind me really close as if to induce me to speed up but I just drive my drive.

So yes, my Corvette gets me noticed. By the wrong crowd. But by women? Not at all. This is, after all, Southern California where there are a LOT more ultra-expensive cars around including C7s which are worth a lot more than my 11 year old '05!

And no, I don't really like that moronic attention it attracts.

I enjoy all the thumbs up and compliments. I enjoy driving an affordable sports car that offers super car like performance.

I find men and women both admire the corvette styling....and mostly men enjoy knowing they can also afford such a car if they decide to buy one.

The corvette is rare up here in northern NJ...most drive porsches, BMW s and Mercedes as well as a boat load of Audi s...

Ferraris and maseratis are numerous as well...

Porsche 911 s are a dime a dozen.

All wonderful cars but most are leased through businesses...

The corvette is the Everyman affordable super car that says the owner is a person is into performance and doesn't care about image...meaning wealthy and all about showing off...

I think that's why so many give the corvette a thumbs up or compliment..

Being America's original sports car doesn't hurt either.

I love the attention my vette gets. It is mostly guys that give compliments but I do get a few girls that admire my vette every now and then.
