Default door unlock pushbutton

I have a newly purchased 2005 c6 coupe. I noticed that the finish on the interior driver side door lock release pushbutton is flaking and I want to replace it. I ordered a new pushbutton. Does anyone have any tips on removing and installing the new button? It looks pretty simple, just has a 4 pin integral connection.

This is the only info I could find in the C6 FAQ. Hope it helps. Scroll down the pictures to the door exit button removal.

I need to do the same....

I assume you can change the button and unplug electrical without removing door panel? I hope!

How much did they cost you?

Very easy to remove. You'll need a small flat blade screw driver. Gently pry the silver bezel up from the door handle. Once free pull it out and disconnect the electrical connector. Once the switch assembly is free from the connector you will again need the flat blade screwdriver to separate the two detents that hold the bezel to the switch assembly.

Yes, it can be removed without taking off the door panel. The first few pictures in the thread linked above show you how it's done.

Pretty embarrassing. I went out to the car opened the door, gently pulled on the trim and it popped right out. The whole replacement took less than 5 minutes. The replacement part cost was about 30 bucks with shipping.

The fan speed switch is part of the HVAC control panel. I don't think it's available as a separate part. The whole control panel will probably have to be replaced to fix it.

Ah. Thanks.
I can probably use some touch up paint to help hide the defect.

Thank you Talon90 and everyone for these easy-to-follow instructions. I need to replace my driver side door button for the same reason. What can I say... this forum kicks butt!

Next step... replacing the ignition switch, which also has paint peeling off it. Thinking it's not going to be as simple.

I know this is a really old post but I need to replace my buttons on my C-6. Does anyone know the part #'s for the passenger/driver replacements? I been searching and can't seem to find it

Nm, I finally found it 2005-2013 C6 Corvette Genuine GM Interior Door Release Switch Button 10362041
