Default Picking an Exhaust

I have been looking at exhausts since I bought my C6. I have watched video after video and I'm still undecided. I like the Corsa Xtreme, Borla ATAK, B&B Bullets, and the SLP Loudmouth.

I'm looking for something that doesn't sound like a old musclecar, is loud and agressive, doesn't have overwhelming drone, and doesn't sound like a tin can.

Any help is appreciated.

Are you an auto or stick shift? Loud/aggressive and no drone is a tall order....most of the systems you mentioned will drone pretty good. Corsa is less droney than others and I'm not sure about the borla atak (not supposed to drone).....I think corsa sounds tin canish...imho. bi-mode exhaust is a great option as it gives you the best of both worlds (loud and drones = valves open....whisper quiet = valves closed)

A manual will allow you to shift around the "drone" so you can have the system you want and no/little drone!

I have a Z06 and I went with B & B Bullets custom without mufflers. Best sounding exhaust in my opinion.

A guy I recently met has a C6 and is already wanting the same set. However, there will be a slight variance in note or tone given an LS3 vs LS7.

This is my second set of B & B Bullets to my first set on my C5 FRC.

B & B Bullets for the win!!

I honestly like me Loudmouth exhaust a lot. Yes it drones some. I drive it 80 miles a day for my commute, and with it being a stick, 6th gear at 80 mph the drone isn't bad on the highway. When I stomp on it though, the roar is just awesome! Had a friendly race on the highway with a guy yesterday, I dropped it into 3rd and took off. He had an auto with stock exhaust. When he caught back up, he rolled the window down and asked what exhaust I had because it sounded so good haha. Just my 2 cents! Good luck finding your system.

I havent heard any of the others. But my corsa sport was perfect for me. Quiet during cruises, loud when wide open throttle, and bubbles when downshift. Honestly, i wouldnt change it for any other choices unless i want the raw cammed straightpipe sound.

Exhaust or sound is up to you or what you like. I have a base 08 coupe . I did ARH headers & bought used bi modes (NPP) mufflers. To have the best of both worlds. I did like the Sweet Thunder exhaust. They are a cat back 3 inch pipes with baffles & no mufflers.

Do you have a video clip? What other mods do you have? Cam? Headers? etc

I do not have a clip at the moment. Only other mod at this point is a bbk CAI. Thinking about headers over the winter. I also forgot to mention that the grumble on downshifts is amazing as well. Get's me all tingly haha!

For no regrets and awesome sound no drone can't beat the Corsa sport 3 inch, yes 3 inch for the c6 is unbeatable in sound and performance.

I absolutely love the Borla Atak on my Z06. Quite loud but sounds awesome. No drone.

All I have to say is "Good Luck"!

1. Its all about opinion
2. Its about your hearing
3. Its about your Vette; base, Z06, motor mods........

In my Z06 I went from stock, to Basanni, to Corsa to Billy Boat and currently back to stock!

Unfortunately I am not aware of any dealer who will let you try their exhaust on your car to determine which one is right for you. Each car, each driver, each passenger will have an opinion.

And if that passenger happens to reside with you in the same house, same bedroom; trust me they have more say than you might be aware of!!!

Good luck with your search.

I had the SLP ML2 and honestly they droned quite a bit but were not loud enough at cruise. The B&B do drone, whoever says otherwise isn't telling the truth. With the 6 Speed its totally bearable and you can adjust for the RPM. They honestly just sound a lot better. Many have commented " That is how a Corvette should sound."

I only switched because I sold the old C6 and purchased another.
