07 C6 Drift Day?

07 C6 Drift Day?
Well, before I get bashed, let me just say that I have no intention on turning my C6 into a drift car and tearing it up!
I however, do want to have some legal fun with it, and I have always been into drifting, used to drift 240s a few years ago.
So I am looking at buying some spare wheels, 18x8.5, and throwing some cheap used tires on them and go have fun for an afternoon on a very open course, only about 4 turns, very wide, nothing to hit, single runs. So we are looking at less than 1 minutes run time with 5-30+ minute cool down times.
This is something I would do once every few months, I guess my version of tracking it, just drifting instead of autocross or road course.
I also can work on my car, so if anything breaks I can fix it myself. (just don't want to break the bank in the process)
My car is basically stock, it is lowered, varram intake, z06 exhaust.
Does anyone see any major potential problems with this that would keep me from doing it? In my mind it really isn't much different than auto crossing or road coursing it, and if I only do it every so often, it shouldn't really be a big deal?
Any input is appreciated!

Corvettes are built for racing, and they are amazing when drifting.
I say have fun with it; that's why you bought it, right?

I was thinking the same thing, they are built for racing, and since I won't be doing it that often, it won't be for so hard on it.
Its funny how my friends are always like, do you ever take it to the drag strip? Do you take it to the track? And the moment I mention taking it drifting, they are like, "Don't do that to that car!". Whats the difference really?
