Default Newbie, first Vette, Yahoo!!

Picked up my very first Corvette 2 weeks ago Sunday. 06 base coupe and I couldn't be a happier guy, I had no idea what a fine machine they are. I'm hooked and have already begun to personalize it and I would like to mention what a wealth of knowledge is in this forum and it has been very useful. I will try and get some pics up, however I am rusty on my use of forums and would like to apologize in advance for rookie gaffes. I am 61 yrs live in Cape Coral FL, blue collar working guy looking forward to retiring in a few years, and I hope to be making some new friends. I also want to give a heads up to the purists here that I am about to do some unthinkable things to my car until I can round up the real things used or swap meets as my finances allow. I spend alot of time in my garage and looking at the brakes and gumby wheels that are the only thing on this car that were not maintained to a very high degree. Hold your nose, I'm putting some covers on the brakes, and some knock off wheels to give me a better look than the rust and dings.

Also I was wondering if anyone was going to the cars and coffee event in Naples this Sunday. Thanks Paul

congrats, I am far from a purist, mine is an 06 as well and I completely redid everything on it. I purchased it new in 2006. Did a full widebody, brakes, interior, engine mods etc
I have good friends who live in cape coral so get over there now and then.
The cars are great and will last a long time.

Good looking car!
I would suggest elbow grease first:
Pull the wheels, scrub the wheel barrels, clean the inner fender panels, clean the calipers, paint the rotor hats, scrub the tires, put it back together and take a another look.
Just sayin...

Default The Dark Side.

Just got them on, you guys are right the covers look a little cheezy, but I want drilled and slotted rotors all the way around and better rear calipers, this will do mean time. Tunes and navigation next! Maybe tommorrow.
