Default New to C6 and my first request for help

Hi all, just bought a LMB 2006 3LT A6 Vert. I have been in C5 for the last 3 years and a C3 for 18 before that...I love this car!

Question, it has a new power top and the toneau cover contacts the top when going up or down. Is it supposed to contact it or totally clear it? Maybe there is an adjustment?

My first pic!

Great looking car, but I'm partial to LMB. Sorry, don't have a vert, so can't help you there. I'm sure someone will though. Welcome to C6.

Very common problem, especially with older Verts.

AFAIK, there is no permanent fix. Most of us just reach back and pull the top forward when closing.

The straps stretch after awhile. You can replace those straps but I have heard they do not last long and stretch out over time. There are many threads on this and iTunes videos. The dealer has a TSB on it as well. Poor design flaw. I never had any problems on my 95 vert.good luck

The real problem to watch for is the headliner getting caught in the upper rear corner plastic trim of the window. Some are known to get caught and rip the headliner. There is a video of a fix for the straps on another thread that appears to work if yours is really hitting hard. Like most people, just reach back and pull it forward alittle. My 2009 didn't hit but my 2011 GS does a little. Not every time but enough to annoy you when it does.
