White substance on interior door panels
Does anyone have the problen with a white powdery substance emitting from the vinyl door panels and dash of their C6? My 2007 did it and my 2013 does it. I figure it is some type of emulsifier emitting from the hard vinyl. It wipes right off easily but comes back over time. The more times you wipe it off the longer time it takes to come back. Any thoughts???
Thanks.......

Yea....just another characteristic of the C-6 cheap interiors. Back to Black helps, as well as other of the same type interior products. Just beware that once you start using them that you are basically destined to have to use them regularly from then on as they always leave a film. And you'll also have to give the panels a good cleaning before every application for best results. Good luck

Yes, you can also get it at Wal Mart. Made by Mother's and comes in a smallish squeeze bottle.
I use 303 Aerospace Protectant and it seems to do a pretty good job. It's not available locally ... got mine from Amazon but at least one Forum vendor sells it.

Not the first owner. First bought the Vett in OK. Almost the same as Mexico. LOL

Jeez, it's the gas emitted from the "cooking" interior parts. Comes right off. Back-to-black, different detailers (not Original Armorall) wipes it off.

Used armorall vinyl wipes b4. Yes it wipes right off but does not stay off. I'll try the back to black next. From experience I know vinyl emitts solvents etc for almost forever.

Scooter, I had the same problem with my 2005 C-6. I believe the powdery substance to be residue processed by the air conditioning and deposited through the ducts onto the door panels and inside of the windshield. If you do not use the air conditioner, then I am dead wrong. It easily wipes off but is a PIA! I don't seem to have the problem with my 2015 Z-06, at least not noticeable yet.

A quick wipedown with a warm/damp terrycloth towel every four months has kept ours looking like new for 8 yrs/96k miles.

Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any permanent solutions except replacing the dash with leather, and that brings its own set of problems.
