New Owner - Z06 Presentation - The red beast
Hello guys,
It's been a while that I am reading this forum and review all the builds and interesting topic here.
Finally I found the one.
Here are the facts :
Corvette Z06
2012
7'000 Miles
B&B Exhaust
Parts ordered :
Callaway Honker CAI
Power Coupler
Racing pedals
To be ordered :
Questions :
Regarding the chassis, I saw that 2 kits are highly praised here.
The PFADT that comes with the anti roll bar as a kit for 1.2K USD.
And the Bilstein DRM (just the shocks apparently).
Could you please advise me on which solutions/shocks are the best in your opinion ? I Didn't see any pros/cons for those 2 kits.
Here are the pics.

Great presentation, your mod list is good. Definitely do a cam and if your on the fence just do a mild cam. Is that a 458 in your garage?

I would skip the Pfadt stuff and just order LG suspension if you want a good performing reliable suspension.
Or do the DRM/bilsteains with LG sways.

Nice car!

Safety Car
if you plan to track the car go with LG coilovers and sways
if you just want an insane street ride go with the DRM shocks and LG sways
steer clear of Pfadt. there mostly for looks.
also i would say yes to the cam. theres just no other mod that give you that smile (or others at the stoplight) of a car just sitting there rumbling hard.

How will you use the car, and how do you want it to ride?
Pfadt has been mentioned in the past, but it's also gone bankrupt and then been bought out by a reputable company called aFE. In the past, some of their parts broke and during their bankruptcy, this left owners stuck. I don't know the current situation with aFE but they are selling the original style/design of Pfadt products. Whether that means it's built better, I don't know. I do know that when they first took over the former company, they did try to make it right for prior owners to some extent.

Hi guys,
Thank you all for the warm welcome, and the already useful tips, I am already liking this community.
I'll try to answer all of you here below.
As for my location,
The car, and myself, are located in this small country full of banks, cheese and chocolate called Switzerland. (Is there any other Z06 owner from Switzerland on this forum ?)
Regarding the use of the car, it will be mainly "spirited drives" on mountain road, Swiss/Italia/France and of course a few Racetrack, but it's going to see normal road 90% of the time so I don't want a FULL track car of course.
Little history fact, Switzerland banned all race track FOREVER following an accident that killed like 40 People in the 50's (the engine detached from the car in an accident and went flying to the crowd). So no racetack in this country....
As for the 458 Italia, she is part of a stable of 4 other (2 italians, 1 Japanese and 1 German) linked to a business project that I am launching here in Switzerland this year. But I'll get into that in another topic if some of you are interested.
Slowstang305
Comparaison between the 2 is a hard thing, they are totally different animal. Let's say it like this, the 458 is perfectly balanced, has a wonderful sound (music/soundtrack whatever you wanna call it) and does everything very well. But I do not feel 100% in control with all those electronics gizmo...
I like my 3 pedals, my shifting gear, and being able to do what I want when I want. And all those new "supercars" just break your ***** everytime, biping for everything, with their 20 computer ... I tried to reverse in the new AMG GT-S, and open my door to see if I am parallel, like I always did in my life... And the car slammed the brakes and bipped like crazy... I mean wtf... Are they building cars for brainless people now ? At least in the Corvette I do what I want, when I want
@unreal / STAN KILLA SS / AORoads
Well, that is why I registered on this forum.
Thank you guys for the insight, it s true that the "looks" of the pfadt was nice. But hey, we want it to perform first.
So just placed the order on the Bilstein DRM and will probably purchase the LG Headers + LG Sway Bars. As it seems to be the best headers out there. And I'll stay clear of Pfadt johny o connel product.
The last thing I might have a doubt is the cam.
But since Kohle is such a trusted partner on this site, and he even recommended one, I'll probably go with a midle one and call it a day.
Here are a few more pics
PS: On the last picture you have the swiss gas price : 1.56 USD for 1 Liter which is : 1.56 USD for 0.26 gallons
So approximatively 6 $ per gallons, remind me how much is it in the SA?

Nice pics! Thanks for the response.
I only knew of one person, an alleged "farmer," who came to the US about once every five or so years and bought a loaded Camaro. He stayed here about a month, took flying and other course lessons, etc., and then had the car shipped home to Switzerland. I could be wrong, but I think he said his was one of the very few, or the only one he saw in Switzerland.
Right now, gas has been down in price, but going up: it's about $2.60 for premium and about $2.30 for regular gas (less or more in different parts of US).
Good luck with your new car and products!
So, tell us what is the business venture/project that you are launching with all those cars?

Gas is all over the place in the US. In california it will be $3.50+ a gallon. In Arizona right next to AZ it is $2.20 a gallon. Just depends on how liberal and in debt a state is.

I can confirm that old camaros are a rare sight.
We have a lot of the new ones and mustangs as well.
As for the Corvette, I can tell you that they are the rarest I saw maybe a few normal C6s, and maybe ... 2 Z in my entire life in Switzerland Not even speaking about the ZR1.
Thx for the info on the gas, always nice to compare how much it cost to run a car in different countries.
Thx, will keep up this thread about the mods.
Speaking about rarity, it will be hard to find a corvette speciaist for the tuning after the head/cam here in Switzerland...

IMO, order HP tuners and tune it yourself. Plenty of places that can mail order tune, or people on here that can help you tune it yourself. Always the best option IMO.

Congrats on the new car!!
Please let me know if you have any questions on any of our products, be it exhaust, suspension, or appearance items.
We do ship world wide, and I our largest international dealer, and European distributor Heinz at Cool Chevy Race Parts does stock a lot of our items and travels to do tunes and can do installs in Austria as well so I have connections on your side of the pond so to speak.
