Thinking about this at work, looking forward to spring and good weather. What type of gas and octane do you put in your pride and joy....87, 89, 90ish...any special brand?? How low do you let your tank go down before you will up?? Just curious....

Since I live in Florida, all I ever put in my GS is 93 octane gas.
However, I am not picky as to what brand I use. And I could care less if it's 'top-tier' or not.

91 octane always. Chevron, Shell or Mobil.

My owner's manual says 93 octane, so that's what I use. Why would you use anything else?

Other than the knock sensors in the engine will detect detonation and will retard your timing way back so you don't damage the engine.
Keep putting in 87 octane gas ... You won't physically destroy the engine, but you are cheating yourself out of lots of HP dues to low ignition timing.
Here is some advice for you .... Put that low 87 octane gas in your lawn mower, and keep it out of your Corvette !
