Transparent Top or Solid Color Top?

I love the glass top, but when listening to music I find it adds a lot of reverb/echo sound to it. On really blazing hot days your head still tends to get warm from the sun.
I'd recommend getting sun shades. I picked up ones to match the two tone interior black/titanium grey. They really help on hot days and will outright remove that echo from your music. I also got a 2 piece set so I can stay shaded while the wife goes for the sun look. It also tucks in behind the seats inside a carrying case when not in use.

I have both. The solid top for summer mostly and the tinted-not really clear top for the winter. Car came with only the solid top, i purchased the tinted from GM. Driving at night, i love the tinted as you can see the stars and the sky!!

Does anyone know can the transparent top be tinted?

I picked them up off the parts for sale section here in the forum. You can find the shades listed on this site: http://www.vettecandy.com/product-p/vc-007.htm
I'm pretty sure they are a sponsor here.
I've also seen on other sites a transparent plastic shade which acts like a static cling wrap and shades the top quite a bit but still allows some light to get in. I opted for the foam shade for the sound issue I mentioned in a previous post.

My "transparent" top is already tinted. From the outside it looks like it's a black painted top. If you get real close and have the right light, you can see through it, but on a quick glance, it appears like a painted top.
Perhaps there is one that is more clear, like the stock windshield glass, but I have never seen one that looked that way.
Edit - I found this picture online and I think it reflects the "transparent" version (on the right):

I have both... I like the transparent however in the heat of the summer I prefer the solid because the transparent top allows the interior to get WAY to hot. The solid roof keeps it much cooler under the sun.
With that said, when driving I remove it whenever possible either way... so it only matters when its parked.
I purchased a cheep sleeping back to keep the one that's not in use in. Its a perfect fit and super soft.

I personally prefer the clear top. Way too much body colored paint otherwise. The contrast is just perfect.
Edit: I realize a lot of the waxers here will disagree, but the clear roof on a rainy evening is so satisfying. One of my favorite aspects of a t-top/targa. Beethoven + rain? That's an enjoyable drive.

I run with the transparent but use a semi insulated cover for the underside as the valley of the sun will bake you through the transparent top. Transparent top is all that came with the car. The cover works very well and has stayed on with suction cups for over a year now, it also stays with the top for going topless.
