Map Update for 2009 Vette
Anyone have any info on a v2017 map update. I'd hate to buy the v2016 released last Jan and find that the newer version is coming out soon.

I paid the $169 and upgraded from a 2012 to a 2016 and couldn't tell the difference. I'm sure some roads were added but I never found them. Finally I swapped it out for a Kenwood with Garmin. Much better.

I'll pass on this one since I have the 2016 version 10.
There were more roads added to the version 10 from version 9. It appears any road finished prior to 2015 was added to the 2016 version.
I would suspect that the 2017 would have any road finished prior to 2016.
Most of the updates are POI's (restaurants, gas stations, hotels, etc. which are likely sponsored and paid for by the brands.
It's too bad that the updates don't include upgrading the graphics to the 21st century.

Surprisingly, there is version 2017 listed for the C6 Corvette.

I spoke with GM Nav today and they said they didn't have any release date for anything after the 2016 released last Jan.

OK, so that's the 2016 version 10.00 released Jan 2016. I was hoping someone might have heard if and when GM would release a newer version. There have been some road changes around Charlotte and I'd like to get then included if possible. The GM Nav site guy said he had no advance notice when or even if they would release a newer version for the C6.

I bought V10 last month for $99 from the site others posted here:

It took three weeks to get here, and mine was mailed from Bosnia.
But it works great.

I had version 8 previously. There were new highways, bridges, and ramps in my area built in the past four years that weren't on my old disc, but were all included on the new disc. It gave me everything I needed, except better graphics of course. Those still suck.

I'm probably the guy who has been spreading that rumor. We have a 2005 Toyota Camry with factory nav that's almost identical to the C6 nav except even less intuitive to use than the Corvette version. The discs seem to be interchangeable.
The Toyota nav disc website says the update they came out with last year will be the last one produced for those cars, so I suspect the C6 nav may not get any more updates either. But that's just a guess.
Since I really like the HUD interface with the nav, I prefer to avoid the aftermarket systems despite their nice features.
