Thought that car and lift looked familiar:

My stock GS is still too low and I have to use those pads to walk my car up the ramps.

I also got the floating jack, as well as some led lights. Pic of under the Stealth before oil change:

A lift is one of the best investments a Vette guy can make. I have had mine for 15 years, and in two houses.

You can put them in smaller garages, it juts takes a little work with a tape measure and moving a couple roof stringers.

Once you get it, call the local Corvette guys and have a Lift Party. They bring the beer, the parts they want to install, and for oil changes, have them bring empty jugs so they can take the oil back to Autozone.

Lots of vettes

Then move to a new house, and design the garage to fit the lift.

A lift is like owning a pickup truck, it's useful, handy, and your friends will want to borrow it.

Thank you for your reply! I am glad to see your floor jack in place. I will do the same thing if I need to jack my Vette.

I built an entire car from the chassis up, including the entire drivetrain, engine, trans, differential on my four post.

But, in addition to that, I've built an alignment system in and have done four wheel alignments on my four post lift. For that, you need the car resting on it suspension, something I couldn't accomplish on a two post.

That one factor did it for me as I was two-post all the way up to that need. That, and the far more complicated installation of a two post.

For the amount of suspension, drivetrain, exhaust, etc. type of work I do here, a 4 post would limit what I can easily do with a 2 post. I used to do frame off restorations and would lift the bodies off with that lift. Fuel pumps on GM pickup trucks....lift the bed off with the 2 post, much easier than trying to get it from below. Can't do that with a 4 post. Parking underneath when the shop is full, still no problem with a 2 post. I can swap all 4 snow tires on my 'winter' car (pictured) in about 11 minutes on the 2 post, can't do that on a 4 post. Go in any dealership and you'll find a dozen 2 posts & maybe a couple of 4 posts. Same with any independent shop.

I installed the lift myself in a day, just need to measure carefully before drilling anchor holes in the floor, lol. Plus having 12 foot ceiling height was also a deciding factor as I wasn't limited in what I could get in there, lift wise.

Everyone's needs are different, just have to evaluate what you do and try to anticipate your future needs too I guess.

Installed Feb.2006. You get really spoiled with a lift. Great for waxing and detailing.
Needed to build ramps to allow lift arms to get under the C6.

Working on cars is one of my many hobbies so I've been thinking about buying a 4-post lift but my garage has an 8 ft ceiling & when the door is rolled up, I only have 7.5 ft of clearance. With the C6 & the stang about 4 ft & 4.3 ft height, respectively, I don't see how I can stack them up without removing the ceiling. Any thought?

Grandson won this lift at MCACN. Wouldn't fit in his garage, so Grandpa gets it!

Funny, I too have used my four post lift as a "workbench" several times for several projects. Another need it serves.
