Wait a minute, your putting Grand Sport body panels on a 'base" corvette? Why don't you just buy a GS and have the real deal. Now your in the ultimate poser car. If somebody comments to you "nice Grand Sport" what are you going to reply. Sorry, you may get a lot of good lucks with the conversion replies but I could NEVER drive a wanna be car.

To each their own. It's not like he is putting GT or SS emblems on a 4 cylinder. It still has the same heart as a GS and as a GS owner it doesn't bother me one bit. At the end it's still a base model with a wide body conversion, but nothing wrong with that. A base Corvette gets enough respect to hold its own so I don't think this falls anywhere near the "poser" category. If I had the base model I don't think I would ever attempt to do this, but I'm interested to see how it turns out.

when it's all said and done, could you PM me what it cost to get it painted, + parts?
I'm very interested in this myself, but quite literally concerned on what I'd have to pay for just paint alone.

Any way, its not like I'am trying to make a 69' L88 427 rep or a 63' split window ! I'am making my own Vette! . Chevy made thousands of them! , at least the C6 . I don't want to be like the rest. My Corvette must be my own! . Now I know how my Wife feels at a dance when the the lady across the room has the same dress on!
