Kenwood DNX893S from Double D Mods
Double D Mods does it again!! Extremely happy customer.
I bought a Kenwood DNX893S set up from Double D Mods. Dennis was very helpful and spot on with the setup and step by step walk through for installation. Back up camera is wonderful, sound quality is fantastic, the Bose came to life. And finally an updated navigation system. One surprise addition I didn't realize the Kenwood had is the tilt screen to reduce reflection. Works like a charm. Everything is perfect, can't wait for the next road trip in April.

When it comes to Dennis, you might say he's the man to come to for upgrades.

I just did the same and added a front and rear camera on my 2011 GS vert. Best upgrade so far. Feels like a new car. Now all I need is night vision and minigun. Life is good.Cheater Gone

Dennis can add the GM adapter that will allow you to retain steering wheel controls, no, it will not show on HUD, and XM is a possibility. Just let Dennis know these things when you talk to him and he will make sure you get what you need. He'll also want to know if you have Bose/Non-Bose system currently.

What's the price point with the Bose system? Did you install yourself or have it professionally installed? Did you have to update the harness or was it direct plug and play? Any modification to the housing/bracket? Thanks

You'd have to talk to Dennis about that. There might be a way, and if there is, he'd know it. I opted for the mic that came with my head unit as the factory one is too high up on the windshield for anyone to hear me when the top is down.

Price point is dependent on your budget and audio goals. I can't speak for the OP, but I did the full install of all of my audio equipment including head unit, speakers, subs, and amp. It was a bit of a job, but it came out extremely well.

I've done my own audio installations in the past. Back in the day I had to splice in wires on my old '86 300ZX because there was no harness available to install an aftermarket CD player. I've probably done 5 audio installations, all with success. None of them ever included a DVD/GPS. Just curious on pricing for the head unit and how much of the installation would be "plug and play".

As far as pricing, it all depends on what you want the stereo to do or not do. For example, I wanted every bell and whistle that would work in my car, so my head unit was just under $1k, but Dennis has many that are half or less that cost. Plug-n-play is an option that Dennis can set up for you for a very small cost (about $15-25 I believe). With my head unit all but one wire was a true plug-n-play. There was one wire that I had to tap into so the radio would have the day/night lighting functionality, but other than that, plug in and go. It took me longer to pull my center console out than it did to install the radio.

You will need to use the supplied mic from Kenwood for the BT

SOme cases whats on website is what it will be as I includes all the harness dash kits antenna adapters rear cameras ect in packages to help offset MAP pricing.

If the radio only is not enough then your going to be looking at amps speakers sub ect for the remaining upgrade to get it to your liking

HUD NAV and song info--NO will be lost
XM yes if you want to add the SXV300 module we can add it built in and we have the kits to retain stock antenna as well on all 2006-13 models. The 2005 is different connections and I have not found the best option or the 2005 yet
HOWEVER
If you have the app on your phone for Sirius XM you can also BT the music to the radio and get better sound quality without having to pay for the subscription and sxv300 tuner kit
