I've done mine by myself a number of times. I use my lift. The hood is suspended from the ceiling. Remove the bolts, lower the car away from the hood. Reverse to install.

Yep, when you put a big gouge in your fender when you slipped trying to do it by yourself, you'll kick yourself for not knocking on the door of the guy across the street who you really don't know that well and ask him for five minutes of his time. That's how I got to know my neighbors, when they ask me for a favor, or I ask them for one.

From someone who worked in a body shop for years. Doable, yes. Recommended, probably not. Unless you have access to a lift and a ceiling that would allow you to setup an adjustable strap system you'll never be able to get it back on and have it align properly. If your determined to do it and don't have access to a lift I have made it work in a pinch using ceiling rafters, climbing rope, and a couple of pulleys.

Yes, you can do it alone. Come in from the driver side and put your head against the hood while wrapping your hand around the outside reaching as far over as you can. Use an electric ratchet. Makes life a lot easier. Support the hood with your hand and head as you remove all of the bolts. Once they are all out you can set your ratchet down and carry the hood off. Going back on is the same in reverse. Just make sure you stage the bolts.

Did it all myself with no strings attached. It was not at all hard, contrary to what some people are posting. Your results may vary!

No, you can take them all out one at a time. Staging the bolts for reinstall just means to have the bolts in a place that is easy to get to while putting the hood back on the car.

These hinges allow adjustment in all four directions - up/down, forward, back. They adjust each direction on different sets of bolts. The danger is to accidentally get the adjustment too far forward, and too low, and close the hood. The nose of the hood will dive under the front bumper lip and then....well you're $crewed!

Very true. Getting it off is ten minutes, back on I can spend two hours adjusting gaps and heights to get them perfect. You can get into serious trouble on adjustments the way these hinges are designed, and you can end up damaging the paint and the nose.
