Here's my '51 Fergie I bought in '77, bone stock, around 25 HP, with a top speed of 12 MPH:

When I want to go fast on the twisty roads, I park my C6 and drive this.

A Lotus 7 replica which I built from a kit. 1420 pounds 240 HP at 9000 rpm (Honda S200 engine & transmission). Turns a 12.6 quarter on street tires, and it's for sale at @ $25,700. I also have an enclosed trailer for sale to haul it.
