Default NT01R's and some decent power

Anyone in the 600-800whp range use these tires?

Looking for a tire that won't ruin my ability to take long sweeping turns, handle high speed runs (165mph +) but can still do a good job hooking in 2nd gear using the 305/30/19.

I don't plan on much dig racing. Maybe once or twice to see what the car will trap.

With 600-800 HP you'd be wanting (possibly needing) wide body rears to stick. Stock base sizes won't hold at that HP range.

Then you have a problem. Pushing upwards of 800 HP you need the wider wheels or you just simply won't have enough rubber on the ground.

Should be 730whp-ish. Maybe a bit more. 740?

Just looking to get a review on how the NT01's hook. I know their purpose is road racing and auto cross, but that doesn't mean they won't do well on straight line performance. They are a sticky tire!

I think you're missing the point here. No tire is going to "hook" in base sizes with that much HP. The only way that's going to happen is to go wider.

ive read and seen 305s do just fine. My buddies 1100whp GT500 hooks in 2nd with a 305. Different car and setup entirely, but 350who more!!

The width is not as important as compound and sidewall.. which this tire also lacks!

In a Corvette? I've never seen anyone in five years here say they can handle that much HP with base size wheels.

A Mustang is not a 3200 lb. car. The power to weight ratio plays a huge part.

Yeah....I'm done here now. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Wide body sized tires won't make any appreciable difference in traction on their own, especially outside of a road racing context. The difference in width between the 305 and 325 is 20 mm, so right at .8 inches. When you look at the difference of the contact patch between the 2 sizes, it's not worth the extra cash to get the bigger sizes.

Now, if you get a softer compound, it will make more of a difference and you may be able to do so in a larger width.

See this link for an interesting discussion on the impact of size vs compound:
