Low beam dim
I just purchased a 2008 with 31k miles. The left low beam is dim. I had it checked by Chevy, and an independent repair shop. They swapped bulbs, replaced the ballast, swapped ballasts, checked voltage, and checked wiring and grounds (Actually, I was just told that the high beam is slightly dimmer also, but not as noticeable). Everything is within factory specs. So far I have spent approx $600 and still have the same condition. From what I'am told, this is a common problem with the C6. I was told to use my fog lights. Surely there must be a fix for this condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.....Rocky

HID bulbs wear out gradually over about 2000 hours of use, but for one side to be dim is highly odd unless the other side was replaced and is still new.
You may want to look into our new headlight options here:

Thanks for your reply. When I stated that the left side low beam is not as bright as the right, it's not slightly dimmer. It's barely glowing, and does not project any light at all. Actually it's so dim that I could get a summons. The right side is approximately 75% brighter. I was told that I would have to replace the assy, but they wouldn't gaurantee that it would fix the problem. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar condition.

There is a recall/TSB for low beam lights on C6 corvettes. I have had my 11 in for the fix.
You might call local dealer with vin # and see if it has been done.

The recall involves putting a jumper under the fuse box. If that does not work I'd still look further into corroded connections or bad grounds.

The recall will not fix your problem. The jumper wire that gets installed is on the coil side of the relay that energizes both headlights. It has nothing to do with resistance on the high-current side.
If either lamp is working at all, then the relay is being switched on and the jumper won't make any difference. The recall is to prevent the low beams suddenly cutting out completely.
Another guy who went through the same ordeal claims the problem ended up being degraded reflector surface inside the actual low-beam lens assembly:

Yep.
The recall is good to know about, especially for newer owners, but has nothing to do with the OP's question.
It's not unusual for one headlight to go dim (sometimes even pink) before winking out forever. Often times tens or hundreds of thousand miles before the other. You can either replace one, or since you have figured out how to replace it, do both. That way you have both the same bulbs at the same time.
