Hertz 133 of 500

I bought a 1996 Chrysler Intrepid from a car rental company for far less than off a used car lot. Many used car lots are selling rentals. I had no problems at all over the 12 years I owned it. I now have a Chrysler 300 that was a car rental and have put over a 120,000 miles on it since 2008 and again not one issue.
If the Hertz Vette is what you are looking for and in your budget, considering the past owner has had no issues I say go for it and enjoy the ride.

No way I'd ever buy a rental vette with so many quality used C6's out there. Go to www.nada.com to find its value

Thanks for all the replies. I decided it was a good deal. I'll be picking it up as soon as the check arrives in the mail (Pentagon FCU). Now I need to sell my 97 Vette because I don't have enough garage space.

Over 80k miles is big negative # 2
There are plenty of better cars available. Tons of C6s with really low miles and in the price range. My current Vette is a 2008 convertible Z51, currently 29k miles. I paid a little more about a year ago but it is show room condition.
My previous one was a 2005 convertible with about 15k miles when purchased about 3 years. I sold it last year with 23k miles for $25000.
You can find a better car with a lot less miles. You'll be happier, less issues and will hold the value a lot better.

I have an 08 ZHZ It had 89k on it when I bought it. The price was 20k good deal to me. The car hasnt had any more problems than most 08s. one was the harmonic balancer the second was the fuel leak covered by GM these 2 things are common to all 08s and some other models. I now have 125k miles and it doesnt miss a beat 80 k on the Vette is no big deal she should get many years use from it

I would have preferred not to buy a rental car but the color and the condition and especially the price was the deciding factor. when I bought this car and compared to others with around 40k miles it was about $6-8k
less and the car fax was good on it so I went with it and havent been disappointed

Rental Car Company maintenance???
As a retired, major rental car company employee, I can tell you they do not use Mobil 1. Nor do they have anything but the cheapest regular grade gasoline. If the oil change light comes on and they have a reservation and need the vehicle, they reset the light and rent it. If something mechanical arises on a vehicle they send it to the dealer. Most manufacturers will not allow the rental car companies to perform
any serious warranty work.

She didn't say she bought it. She said she is waiting to receive the money from a loan to go and buy it. She asked for advice and opinions.
