Any issues with High Mileage Mobile 1
My low oil warning light came on. I had my wife pick up some Mobile 1 5W30; however, the guy at the auto store gave her the "high mileage" version. I've never used the high mileage version and the "regular" version is in there now. Any issues using the high mileage as well as to top off the regular version?

IMV, absolutely not. It's basically the same thing with a slightly higher TBN (additive for neutralizing acids, etc), and some stuff for seals, etc. I like it, and was considering using it as my DD oil...

Once you switch it is recommended to stay with it. Your seals will swell slightly and might wear down some with time. If you go back to regular M1 the seals might shrink causing more oil consumption.
If your low oil light came on it should help lesson the oil consumption.

Thanks all for the info. I did add 1 qt so not much but the car does now have 80k on it. Perhaps I will switch to it at the next oil change officially.

If your low oil light came on you must have been down a significant amount of oil, no? That's a lot more harmful than running one quart of high mileage with the remainder of your regular Mobil 1. Check the dip stick more frequently in future and worry less about mixing oils from the same manufacturer and the same type.

80k is nothing on these cars...what do you think is going on?

My 05 with 199K does not use any oil, so I use regular M1. My Lincoln has 205K and uses some oil. I switched to the high mileage oil and it reduced oil consumption to a fraction of what it was, so it does work. If the oil consumption is due to a leak, it's not going to change.
