Cleaning underside of car

I agree. And that goes for brake cleaner, Simple Green (which I saw in an earlier post). But I'd also ask LMB how long he's been doing this to the underside---it is possible that with his long washing immediately afterwards there might be little effect on the composites.
Ooops, just saw LMB's post above mine which answers the questions. Thanks, LMB.

Water 7732-18-5 > 84.8%*

Citric Acid 77-92-9 < 1%*
Isothiazolinone mixture 55965-84-9 < 0.2%*
Fragrance Proprietary Mixture < 1%*
Colorant Proprietary Mixture < 1%*
In addition, there are no medical steps to be taken listed under "First Aid". No damage from ingestion, inhalation, skin contact, or any other form of exposure.
I am not bringing this up to argue...I want to know if I am missing something that I should be concerned about. Perhaps someone with a better knowledge of chem, can enlighten me.

I only used the Aluminum Brightener one time. That was 3 years ago. No side effects noticed at all. It comes in a plastic spray bottle, so if it was THAT corrosive, they would put it in something else. Spray it on, leave it 10 seconds, rinse thoroughly. Then rinse again.

LMB, beware of all chems, regardless of packaging. Corrosives are packaged by their effect on various substances. As an example...Both chlorine bleach and muriatic acid are sold in plastic, but are highly caustic/corrosive. Many acids do not interact with plastic, so are sold in plastic containers.
Don't let the packaging fool you...

AO, that was me who suggested Simple Green. I am not responding in defense, but just out of interest. Following is the complete list of ingredients:

Sodium Citrate 68-04-2 < 5%*

Notice in particular the first thread dating to 2015. I've posted a couple times, a few others have, too. One, cmonkey, used aluminum brightener, others talk of wheel cleaners having a negative effect. Still another talks about diluting SG by 50% with no adverse effects. Finally, I must have found a site w. SG's own words of caution. For me, anyone can use anything. But with a product that has so many caveats and cautions whether it requires no med attention or not, I'd shy away from using it on some materials just because I don't know the length of time when it WON'T have a negative effect. Call me overly-cautious but that's just for me, my car.

Okay pal, I worked a little this morning, then washed the Vette in the front yard -- was beautiful t-shirt weather -- went to lunch and laughed for two hours straight, went to my buddy's for business stuff and to catch up.
A great day and I didn't even drink.
My girlfriend did get into it a little bit though . . .
