Corvette C6 - Cabin = Forever Stinky
For some reason my C6 cabin always stinks. I replace air cabin filter right around 5 months ago and its back to its swampy type of scent.
I've been buying chemical guys air fresher - stripper scent and using it weekly
https://www.chemicalguys.com/Strippe...air_069_16.htm
But it still has a wild scent coming from the ac vents. Is anyone else having stinky issues?

I've seen a product on youtube for cleaning your AC condenser. It's mildew on the coils that you are smelling. When you use your air conditioner it's good practice to shut the air conditioner off and just let the vent air blow through the condenser for 10 minutes before arriving to your destination. Help take the condensation off the condenser. Can be uncomfortable though if you live in a hot environment.

Someone else mentioned a problem with the smell from the windshield washer reservoir that may have been related to using regular water.
Using the untreated water instead of the proper fluid can cause the washer water to have some bad smells.

I sprayed Fabreeze into the cabin air filter compartment before installing the new filter and the musty smell has been gone for two years now.

My late mother-in-law lost a TV dinner under her driver's seat once. The car had a pretty foul smell until I discovered it while doing general maintenance for her. Her friends all noticed the odor but were hesitant to tell her.

See the following thread for details on the TSB to treat the evaporator fins/casing and activate the blower modeule "afterblow" feature that runs periodically runs the blower motor after the engine is turned off to dry excess condensation in the evaporator case:

One thing you might check is the A/C evaporator box drain. The C-5 was notorious of being plugged up and causing a mildew inside the box which could be your issue. There is an evaporator core cleaner that GM uses to use to kill the mildew in the box. You drill a 1/16 hole in the front of the box and spray the cleaner inside the box. Put a piece of HVAC silver tape over the hole and you are done. If you need to do it again you still have the access hole to use. Check the drain first, it must be clear to prevent the back-up of condensate in the box..

My Grand Cherokee gets a musty order in the Summer when I'm always running the AC. I remedied that by switching the AC to defroster & heater mode for a couple min before shutting down.

I didn't read all the posts so someone else could have better info - but as a FYI I purchased Odoban cleaner off of Amazon for getting rid of odors on furniture. I've also heard good things for cars. Got the recommendation from someone who managed hotels and they used this stuff in their rooms - and some nasty stuff goes on in hotel rooms. Link:

Do you park it outside or does it have a garage or car port? Plenty of people have had minor leaks which, over time, can stink as well as produce mold.
edit: also, sometimes mold can build up in the a/c ductwork.

Running your air all the time with the little yellow led on is the problem (recirculate)....Once you are cool, push the button so outside air gets in....when you stop the car and get out the open vent lets the coils dry...not allowing the musty smell to grow. You don't have to do anything to it other than that in a few weeks it will clear up on its own.
