Default weird spines on fender vent

what are these weird spines on the vent, do you guys know if they can be removed? Im looking at purchasing this c6 but these spines look good awful and ruin the flow of the car so i don't think i'd buy it if they weren't removable.

I would assume they use some type of adhesive so I'm fairly certain that they can be removed safely. Good luck with the purchase.

They are called spears. Should be double face tape holding them on. Fugly.

Double sided tape. Use fishing line to get under the spears to remove them. Then clean the glue off.

It's just heavy duty 3M double sided tape that holds them on. I had the same thing on mine when I bought it a couple months ago. For the most part, they came off fairly easily, but the one on the passenger side took a very small strip of clear coat with it. I'll be repairing that soon.

How many miles are on the car? Any previous damage? Any modifications other than the spears that were meant for side to side stability, LOL.

Use a heat gun to warm (not cook) the adhesive, then fishing line, then goo gone.

OP...I'm curious on the color. The only blue in '08 was Jetstream blue and that sure does not look like it. It looks more like Supersonic blue. Is the color in the photo that far off or could it be a repaint?

While you are at it, why not get rid of the mudflaps too? To protect the sides from chipping, I had 3m clear vinyl applied about 4 inches wide along the sides from wheel well
to wheel well and behind the rear wheels on my 01 C5. It's been on since 04(when I bought the car) and still transparent.

Just one of the many things you can get out of an accessory catalog to overdo your Vette!

Before you buy, do your own research for problems. Don't be the guy who buys the car, then starts complaining about things that are well-documented on this site and elsewhere.

Asking, "are there any issues" is not research, and is not going to get a lot of good info.

Yes, there are issues. Some of them drive folks crazy. Do the research, and good luck.

again thanks for the replies everyone, unfortunately the car was bought before i could get to it and do my inspection. And to answer one of your questions it isn't blue that is space grey metallic. Furthermore, i know enough about cars to do know some basic things pertaining to mechanical problems but i was just asking you fellow forum members of any items that wear sooner rather than later. I know for example to keep look out for the harmonic balancer and make sure there is no wobble as that seems to be the major problem for the ls's

Sorry to hear that you didn't at least get a chance to look at the car. Continue your search, there are plenty of good Vettes out there.

So...it was a repaint of a non-factory color.
Perhaps "fortunately" it was sold.
