2013 427 battery replacement
I have an AC Delco 4838 model 90-6 yr battery which probably needs replacement because of the slow starting symptons.
Should I go to the dealer or do you have another recommendation?

First post, so welcome to the forum.
There are a few battery choices available, but even if you wanted to stay with the OEM AC Delco, you can find them at your local auto parts chain store, and probably for a better price than your dealer will provide.
By the way............ check out the 427 owners registry topic on the top of the C6 page and provide information about your car there too!

Owned an '06 3 years, never needed to change battery but if I did it was in front, easy job.
OTOH owned my '08 Z06 since new, battery's in rear pit.
P I T A.
Replaced cell once w/ a Delco, dealer did it when oil was changed.
Paying them to deal w/ it was to me, money well spent. YMMV
Isn't CE's battery located in rear pit like Z06/ZR1?
IF it is get a battery strap, any kind will do. Won't be sorry.
Also be very careful re-tightening nuts, they're conical.
Breaking and/or losing one is to be avoided at all cost.

First problem! Love the car, fun on the highway. It's my 3rd vette-learned to drive in a '67 427 Stingray that my dad had for 40 years.
This is my "nostalgia" car.

I realize this is an old post and that this is my first post after being inactive since signing up 2 years ago After updating my profile today, I was looking for the 427 owners registry. I did not find it on the top of the C6 page. I am guilty of not posting or logging on -- not even "lurking" on the forum. I hope to mend my ways. I will be replacing my battery today. Lifting strap (about $7 US) is well worth the expense for vehicles with the Z52 option (GS, ZR1, Z06, 427 CE). I decided to go with Autocraft Gold T5 after receiving 25% online order - pickup in store coupon. Bringing tools with me to changeout on site since it will require a jump to get car started.

I got lazy and didn't want to swap my weak ACDelco battery so I took it to the local Chevy dealer. They wanted $50 labor to do the swap. Told them forget it and went to the Interstate battery dealer down the street. He did charge me $10 which I thought was reasonable. Kept 12 volts on the car while swapping so I wouldn't lose any computer data.
