Clutch issue
Hi.
My clutch pedal in my manual 06 z51 has some issues.
Upon startup and when the car is cold, the clutch is smooth like it should be, but when the car has gotten to operating temperature, the clutch becomes rough. Its not smooth, quite squeaky when the engine is off and feels like something is sticking. It's very hard to get a good feel of the clutch because of this when its warm.
I have tried the ranger method. Ive changed the fluid multiple times and its now clear. It was totally black when I bought the car, so I have no idea about if the previous owner did it. Also, these symptoms started after I did the first ranger method and then got worse each time I did it again.
So, any thoughts? Slave maybe?
Viktor

Hiya Viktor.
If it squeaks when you depress it, get some white lithium grease or whatever grease you want, and get under the clutch pedal. At the very top of the pedal, there is this plastic black clip - grease that up and the squeak should go away. I had a squeak and trying greasing everything else before I found that one (it's really at the top top.. might have to take out the panel cover at the bottom, forgot if I did or not). It will definitely make it easier to see if you do take the panel out though. 3 trim piece clips holding it together.
Also, since you said it feels sticky grease up the springs too. I doubt this will fix the sticky feeling you're getting, but it's worth a try before you get into the master/slave.
Good luck!

Melting Slicks
It sounds like you have a slave cylinder that is near failure. Possibly even the throw out bearing. The only solution is to drop the tq tube back and replace them. You might as well just replace the clutch while you are in there. You may find the clutch fingers or basket damaged.

Safety Car
Missing some important info:
How many miles on the clutch? City/Highway miles or both?
Any mods? Use? street or track or both?
Might be to your best interest to replace the entire clutch and be done with it.
