What happens if you crash at the track?
Obviously I know if you crash insurance isn't going to cover it.
But what if the other guy next to you crashed into you? Or worse, you crash into him?
Is there any insurance that covers for 1 day at the track?
I'm talking about a 1/4 mile drag race.
I know its extremely rare, especially for a 12 second car. But you never know what the guy next to you will do...

It is actually a complicated question. The track organizers make you sign a bunch of waivers, which include agreeing that you are responsible for damage to your car and damage to the track.
Most auto insurance policies will not cover you, or the other driver, for anything that happens on a race surface, timed event or otherwise. Even if not a timed event, they usually won't pay as it happened on a race surface.
The track insurance policies are almost always written with a no-fault clause, that says they don't care who is at fault, they will pay for damages to your car (but not the other guys). So this is the best protection you have against someone slamming into you.
It is also generally understand on the track that everyone is in a "no-fault situation". Meaning that even if someone crashes into you, they are not responsible for your vehicle's damage - you are. You would likely need to sue them and prove it was intentional, and not simply negligence. Their insurance wouldn't pay, your regular insurance wouldn't pay. If you had track insurance, it would pay. Otherwise, you must sue the guy personally.

If someone wrecks into ypu on the track, it's up to them to make it right. If they refuse, then you have to sue them and it becomes a whole **** show. Typically when this happens the person who did the wrecking is barred from the organization that ran it and sometimes the track.
Long story short, don't wreck in to someone.

I think that when Omega was in grade school, he was assigned to be the class hall monitor. He still wants to be in charge of what everyone else does.

With all the waivers you sign you are pretty much screwed. My buddy did a one car accident into the wall and the track made him, sued him for the damages. Its fun, but hope no one crashes, you are pretty much screwed

Some guys choose not to buy the policy because their policy says nothing about HPDE track days, the policy just states no racing. My policy clearly stated no racing or HPDE.
Not sure if this helps any, I'm sure there is something similar for the drag strip.

The only track day I have done, I purchased a policy for $175.00, that had a 10% deductible, would have been a little cheaper for 20% deductible. That payed for any damage driving to and from the track or transporting the car to and from the track, and on the track. You also submitted the value of your car in case it was a complete loss. That was how the price of the policy was determined. Seemed like a pretty good deal if you ask me.

A new and better idea for track insurance or spark plugs/wires.... Oh my. We aren't talking about integrating a MoTec here.

It's based on the price of the vehicle along with your ET and only covers you from the burnout box to the start of the return road.

Lmfao than whats the point? If a crash is going to happen it's going to be during the race not at the water box and definitely not at the turn around
