Car cover recommendations
First Vette, a 2012 GS Cent.
I want a decent cover for when it's in the garage. Any out there that are just heavy enough to prevent minor dings?

You should take a look at forum vendor CCA's site. They have one of the best selections of covers, and at decent prices. The Covercraft Weathershield might be what you're looking for.

if the car is in a garage I would question why you need one.. Have had many vettes and other cars in a garage and never saw the need for one... I mean if I drive my car and then pull it in the garage and put a cover on it, then the dirt/dust on the car is just gonna have a chance to scratch it when I put the cover on and then off when I drive it again.. I'm not washing the car at 2am when I put the car back in.. Obviously I'm not a big fan of car covers for cars that are driven often.. Just don't get it.. YMMV....

My NOAH is advertised as preventing minor dings from small/medium sized hail, etc. Granted dings don't really happen like they do on metal bodied cars. But i like it all the same, piece of mind if something falls off a shelf. I drive the car maybe once a week, sometimes not for weeks at a time, in an "unfinished" garage, that is to say there is no drywall up, the garage gets very dusty, and the cover has done great.

I use a Dustop Block It indoor cover for my 2013 GS. I love it. It is bulky and dont travel with it but for in the garage it works great. It fits like a glove, easy on off and very paint friendly. I'd buy it again. My 2 cents.

I've used it in the garage to prevent mishaps and to keep the dust off the car and also had it on the car in a carport to keep wind driven dirt and rain off. It comes with a storage bag, cable lock and padlock. Price wise it is mid range since I saw quite a few cheaper and more expensive ones.
The only downside I've seen is that some lint comes off of the white fleece liner and gets on the black cloth convertible top. A quick pass with a sticky lint roller takes care of that.
Once the bad weather hits and the snow flies the Corvette is a garage queen tucked away under its cover until spring.

I have a Covercraft Form Fit for inside and it fits my GS CE perfectly. The softest underside I've seen in a car cover.

I love the GM cover, super soft, looks awesome, but I agree it's for over the winter only, I learned taking a cover on and off no matter how careful causes fine scratches.

Try Ebay for a 1-3 layer cover - they are cheap but work well. the less layers the lighter it will be - since it will be in a garage -- go light weight. no elastic border or hem.. that is what will scratch your fine Corvette

I've been using California car covers on every one of my cars even the ones in the garage, yes like every one says they probably do add very fine scratches but will buff right out. I've always said the fine scratches...that I've never noticed are worth it for the one time it protects against something much bigger like something bumping into it, which also probably will never happen but it gives me piece of mind! I also take it with me for the occasional time it's parked in the hanger at the airport or outside in the sun. Calicarcover.com.

Here is a picture of a C7 GS indoor cover.
I also have about 3 or 4 other covers like these for the C6. Different car forms. All from CoverKing.

I have had the Covercraft Evolution & Noah and decided the flannel was the thickest and the softest cover for me. I looked at the California Cover & The Covercraft Flannel and both was the same thickness material but at a higher price. So I decided to roll the dice and order a flannel from Corvette America and it turned out to be the same type of flannel at a better price as the others aside from have their name logos which you're paying for. Here's a photo of it on my ZR1 and the link:
