Super specific but quick question for anyone that has an OBD2 and an automatic. Will the reader pull info on what gear is selected when in normal "Drive" mode? Going to sport and using paddles will display it but I'm curious if I can get the readout of what gear its in while just in "drive".

A regular scan tool or code reader will not tell you what gear the car is in while driving. Not sure if a GM Tech II will do that though. Maybe someone with a Tech II can chime in.
