Corvette Museum Trip
Getting ready to leave for Kentucky for my first trip to the Corvette Museum. Unfortunately the plant is closed for tours. Any recommendations for other sites to see or good food spots? Thanks

Burgers and shakes are pretty good in the museum cafe.
Western Kentucky U is there also. Home of the fighting Hill Toppers. Pretty campus. Drive through there and see it.
We trudge on.

Don't laugh, my son and I was happy to see a White Castle near Bowling Green since we don't have them on the left coast. Something different.

not but an hour from Nashville or Bourbon Trail.
Only place we ate when in BG last year was the Roosters Wings, night we were there it was pouring down rain and this was beside hotel we stayed in. Great chicken wings
The Bourbon trail is neat to see a couple of the distilleries and countryside is beautiful in that area .
Makers Mark is my go to bourbon and is a beautiful place to visit
Nashville on the other hand is a LOT OF FUN if you like honky tonks and country music

Don't forget to take pics of the car at the plant even if you can't take the tour. When I went, the security guards let me drive up the car to the plant tour front doors and we took pictures.

Lots of good suggestions here. As mentioned, don't overlook the bourbon trail, lots of history and beautiful grounds to see and bourbon to taste. Central KY has some great roads for cruising in your 'vette, don't be afraid to get off the main roads you won't be disappointed.

Depends on which direction you're coming from. An hour or so north is the heart of Bourbon country. Most distilleries have tours and they are all excellent with knowledgeable guides and wonderful whiskeys. I can highly recommend Maker's Mark, Four Roses, Woodford Reserve, Willett's, Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace, & Bulleit. You get a pretty clear idea of where I drive my Corvette on day trips...
Churchill Downs in Louisville is the epicenter of thoroughbred horse racing and very family-friendly. The staff are very accommodating and it's a well-maintained facility. A stop in Louisville on your way in from the north will be rewarded with an outstanding choice of culinary delights - just check the online restaurant guides. New Albany & Jeffersonville in Indiana are also emerging as foodie meccas with a more small-town atmosphere.
No, I don't work for the Chamber of Commerce. I moved to the area 30 years ago and discovered the best-kept secret in the midwest. Well worth a stop on your way to the museum.
Just got back from my second visit to the museum and I've got to say they do a great job with the displays and presentation. They keep rotating vehicles in so it's not the same from visit to visit. And the staff are the friendliest in the country. We got in on one of the last tours. Didn't see any C8s, though.
