I have no idea, unless they're talking about the 6-CD player that some C6s came with.

I believe this is an artifact of GM using the same basic audio head unit over a wide range of vehicles so not all features get implemented in all of the applications. My 2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD has the same CD/aux button but it does actually have an input jack so you can use an Ipod/MP3 player.
If you search the archives there is a modification to add an easy aux input IF your receiver was ordered with XM capability. Otherwise you can add one of those small modulator units that puts your MP3 player on the FM band but unless they have improved a lot since I tried one back in 1991 I wouldn't bother.

you might mention what year car you have.
I have a base '08 and the radio has an aux/RCA port on the upper right corner. I usually plug a Bluetooth connector so I can hear music and navigation and can answer my smart phone. Or I can plug my phone (or MP3) directly into the radio.

6 disc cd changer
i just installed a 6 disc in a swap from my single disc and automatically popped up locked....i know that when power is removed it goes into theft deterrent mode....i've been online and unless you know a code it won't unlock....i was told by instructions to hold down 2-3 preset buttons and numbers will appear....then hold the am/fm buton for the other 3 numbers......first.....i held the 2-3 #'s and no code appears....secondly i don't have am/fm buttons on this unit....closest thing i can figure is the band button....how do i get my code?....called chevy they said they might be able to do it for $150.....so now i'm here.....i know it's not vin specific but they say you can dis able the lock feature once and for all.......any help appreciated ....my console is all apart waiting for help...

Button is used to switch to XM, and if you have a 6 disc CD player installed in the back of the car's cubby, to switch to it as well.
Also, if you don't have the above in the car, radio/button has not been programmed for that, and you will not get these channels via the button.

No code, Hence you need to go in with a tech II in the car, go to Radio, then to special programming and do a memory relearn of the radio. This will erase the old BCM data that the radio used to be married to in the other car, and when you go to start up the car after the relearn process, the radio will marry to your cars BCM data.
You don't list your location, but if in the Denver area, can swing over with a tech too to do the relearn procces off the radio so it will unlock, and marry to your car. If not in Denver, then post your location, since a great deal of use have Tech II's, and maybe someone local with one that can switch over instead.
As for a tech II clone to have on your own, they are $109. Hence if you go to the dealer, they are going to gouge you for about $140 every time they use theirs.

i'm in the Saint Petersburg , Florida area...the local dealer here said about $150.....if i buy my own i'd need a course to use it because i'm not tech savvy.....it sounds as though i can button up the console being that it goes through the OB2 port to reprogram the radio....i'll reach out the local vette car clubs and see if a guy has one and can do it....thanks for the help Dano523......
