https://youtu.be/tNMJrfgTumUHere's one outing on the track during my powercruise trip. I did notice a couple of times during the weekend that the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor at high rpm while shifting.
Is this a normal problem??

Clutch issue is definitely common. It happened to the previous owner of my car and he got it fixed. I believe GM will fix the issue at no charge if you do have the problem, but I don't know if they will still do it for '05 models. The problem lies with the clutch master cylinder. Check this thread for more info:

The clutch master cylinder fix by GM at no charge is for models that are less than 10 years old. Right now as far back as it goes is 2007. )5 and 06 models are not covered.

Actually it goes by "in service" date. My 06 went in service Sept 07 and according to GM is still covered. At least a couple more months.

This past June I flew to Houston to pick up a 2005 C6 with a Z51 package ( you know it's thinking it's lucky stars that I saved it from hurricane Harvey !?). The guys with the Z06 is in the grand sports are quick to point out Z51 isn't a model, but the fact is whenever you order parts you have to add that it's a Z 51 because the radiator and certain other parts are different. Be Proud of what you've got it's a great car in a fun car to drive !

So, I finally took the plunge and ordered a pair of replacement seats for the C6. The factory seats were getting tired, although comfortable. I felt as if there was a good option out there and these seem to fit the bill.

I REALLY like the Competition Seats in C7's, and these were a much more palatable option the way things are right now.
They showed up very well packaged just a couple of days after I ordered them (ordered directly from Corbeau).
Overall, I would have to give the seats a 9.9/10 in the quality department. You have to remember that these only retail for $399/each. It's a heck of a bargain in my opinion. They took all of the guess work out of "whether or not these seats will fit in my car" like many alternatives are. Here's some photos of the seats before installation.
The stitching was good all over the seats. I chose black stitching, they do offer red as another option. Here is a general idea of what to expect.
Bottom of the seats is also very presentable and well put together. Mounting hardware comes installed in the seat bottoms. There are four #6 Allen Head bolts in each seat seen here.
Seat brackets here. The weld quality is what I would call "production quality" if that makes sense. It's not bad by any stretch, but don't expect a stack of dimes. I opted for the "Double Locking Sliders" that Corbeau offers on their C6 Seat brackets shown below. A "Single Locking Slider" is $20 less per seat. I see no reason to cheap out. The extra money was well worth it.
The tracks are good quality and come well lubricated.
As far as the installation went, I would have to say it's not exactly for the feint of heart. The instructions that were included don't outline anything that you'd really LIKE to know in hindsight. I had to do some digging on the internet to figure out how to get the seatbelt buckle off of each side (13/16'' Socket...). The installation did require some strategically placed washers to make everything jive as well.
Other than a couple of little hiccups, the seats look OUTSTANDING, and feel great! I hadn't sat in a pair until these and I have zero disappointments. The seating position is good, the seats are very supportive. They are about 30lbs lighter than the factory setup to boot! Talk about giving an aging car a facelift.
Seat fitment below. It doesn't contact anything in the car in any position, and has lots of room all around each corner.
This is a fairly inexpensive way to breathe some new life into your C5/C6. Highly recommended!!!

That's a nice look car with some good upgrades, thanks for sharing. The Z51 badge question is an interesting one, I thought about it as I looked at a car with badges before buying mine, and concluded badges are fine if you are into it and putting them on the real article. The the guy I saw last week with a 2005 C6 with Z06 badges, not ok.
I just picked up my car last month, (Z51 too!) so had to travel and carry the money as well, through an airport, security, the plane, so was new. I had seen the car the previous week as the owner was out my way for a Corvette meet, then made the offer and final sale over the phone the following week, so at least I was fortunate enough to know what I was getting into anda we agreed on a bank draft. I'm in Canada and I think we're a little less "cash money" wired like Americans, but a draft should be just as good as cash, better even because it's only cashable by the payee, you can call the bank to confirm, and I think you can even cancel them. We also have about about 6 national banks and then credit unions so it's a bit easier to cross bank. I had that draft on me the whole time, it was more money than I've ever carried at once before, so can relate.
A friend of mine and I were recently talking about this, and agreed that cash on a large enough sale was scetchy as you have no idea where it's from or if it's even real. We see a lot of cash mentioned in CL adds so were surmising if that meant literal cash or that people weren't accepting payments over time. I've only ever bought 4 cars, the first was from a family friend and he wanted a cheque, the second a draft at a dealer, and the third an account transfer at the same bank.

Congratulations on your New Purchase of an 2005 Corvette Z51. I am the Proud Owner of a 2008 Corvette Z51. Just like my Corvette, I also own a 1998 Camaro Z28. Z's run in my family. As if you didn't already notice some corvette owners are ********, money does not make that go away. Seems like some people just want to rain on your Parade, must be some deep seated psychological issue from when they were being brought up.
