Default Goodyear Runflat Life Expectancy

I am close to picking up a '13 coupe with Goodyear EMT (non-F1) runcraps on it; I had the same crappy tires on my '05 and changed them out for Michelins as soon as the OE tires wore out.

I took the car for an extended test drive on the interstate (this is where the majority of the driving will be) and there was only the usual road noise but the car has 14K miles on it so it should be Corvette "quiet". I suspect these are the original tires and since they are 5+ years old, would they be safe for a roughly 2,200 mile road trip before I replace them with real tires?

If there are no weird noises or vibrations and if a visual inspection of the tread/carcass looks okay, then have at it.

I looked at the tires before the test drive and they looked fine to me... I will give them a very close inspection when I go to get it; hoping they are good for the trip or the wife will kill me when I say I need new tires...

Check the date codes on the tires, most get <10k on the OE tires. I got 12.5k on mine, but the rears were shot. I would not take a chance on that kind of trip.

I have one original Goodyear on the back drivers side of my 08. Just turned 35K. I think I hold the record!

I'll hit 25K miles tomorrow with OEMs on my '13 Coupe. I think 30K is safely within reach.

I changed out the OEM tires on my '08 at 34K miles. More than half of that was from long distance road trips. They weren't near the wear bars yet.

I changed my runcraps soon after putting a supercharger on my car, even though they only had ~ 3,000 miles on them, because I was concerned about MY life expectancy.

I replaced the original goodyears on my 2012 last year with Michelins. They had cracks in the tread at only 9000 miles. I am glad I did. Much quieter.

My 03 C5 I got 26k on the gy runflats, then the noise level got to my wife so I went to Michelins.

My 13 C6 has 27k on th orginal gy runflats with lots of tread left. The nois is starting to bother both of us. Michelins are in the future for the C6.

I have a 13 GS with the original run craps and 9500 miles. They still look fine but the ride is garbage. So much trammel on uneven roads it's annoying. I'm gonna replace them soon just because it's an awful tire even thought there's still tread left.

I have 14,500 miles on my 2013 OEM Goodyear runflats. Still look brand new. Getting a little noisy but still look good.

You are doing well. My '11 coupe only got 11K on the fronts and I then went through another set of fronts before the back tires finally wore out at about 34K miles. I replaced all four with Firestone Firehawks rated at 340 wear. I just got back from the tire store, my front tires are shot at 8K miles. I am almost 71 and do not drive my Vette hard. Dave at the tire shop says he can see cupping and recommends new shocks at 42,500 miles on my garage queen. This is not good!

Yes, I would say they're safe. Of course, I'd check a few things before I left on the trip like alignment, air pressure, etc. all to me "preventive" maintenance. As a matter of fact, the non-F1 Supercar tires have a lifespan for many that's up in the 30K mile range.

I recently purchased 05 with 40k 1st thing i did was replace rear Goodyear RFT (passed inspection barely)but they were as far as i know the original tires.. i wouldnt think you would have any issues on a long trip thats my opinion for whats its worth.
