Default Clutch slippage

Hi all, does anyone else have a problem with your foot slipping off the clutch pedal when it is wet? I have a 2013 grand sport convertible with the metal pedals. Even my new sneakers don't help.

I don't think a Corvette is the only vehicle where the clutch pedal will be slick when the driver has wet shoes. One generally has to be what is called..."very careful" ..not to let said foot slip off of pedal.

I did, I just made sure to be careful when it was wet. They sell pedal adapters that have grip on them.

Yeah, they are absolutely awful. I had several close calls because of it. I ended up getting these:

I'm sure you could probably find them a little cheaper. Solved the problem entirely for me. They look much better too!

My car would have to be out in the rain for me to have wet shoes, which does not happen.

You can get different pedals that have raised grips that should help.

Absolutely is. Especially now that it's rainy season for us here in Florida.

I got REALLY lucky and managed to get them for $70 from an eBay seller last year. I do agree that $200 is definitely a bit much.

I took 2 large round head bolts and with a dremel tool cut 2 more slots in the top, so the top looks like an asterisk. The bolts have lengths that just get them through the holes in the clutch pedal. That keeps my shoes from slipping off when wet.

Yes it is dangerous! Just be careful! My complaint is not so much the slippage, but the fact some of our shoes or sneakers have cleat like bottom and its difficult for my foot to slide to the side when changing gears. I have my "corvette sneakers" that I wear when I drive her! I had to shave some of the bottom of the sneaker a little to get it smooth. It works!

Have a nice day!

^^I have some, too. Not Piloti, but a very light, smooth-ish soled shoe.

Sounds like something one shouldn't have to do, but that IS an excellent idea---have a towel to wipe off feet so they don't slip off the pedals.

Agreed the clutch and brake pedal are both very slippery with wet shoes. There are a lot of different covers for the pedals available.

pedal slippage, not clutch slippage.

the former is an issue for C6 cars, the later is an issue for any vehicle with a clutch.
