Optima Yellow Top

I remember reading a topic on replacement batteries and some people used the Optima Yellow Top. I can't find the topic so I'll re-ask the question. Has anyone used the Optima Yellow Top and what do they think of it?
Thanks,
Steve

I live on an island in NW Washington state and have a 1-1/2 to 2 hr ferry ride each way to the mainland, plus waiting in line for up to an hour prior to the ferry departure. To pass the time we watch movies, play Play Station and listen to music. The Optima yellow top has been my battery of choice for 15 years now in my Savana conversion van. When the battery in my 2012 Gran Sport Centennial edition fails, I'll replace it with the Optima yellow top.

I have one and like it. Supposedly it can take a lot of deep discharges and can be restored with a charger many times. I have an aftermarket audio system so I got it for some extra power.
I keep mine on a CTEK battery tender when I am not driving my car.

Steve, I have a Red Top in our Subaru Outback and love it. I have had and used Optima batteries in the past and will replace with current battery in our '07 with a Red or Yellow Top when it fails.

I run yellow tops in most my vehicles including my C6... I've had a pair freeze and expand in my f250 at about -20F... Recently replaced one in the C6 that lasted about 3 years, but I didn't have a charger on it while the car was apart for upgrades for about a year... The one in the caddilac deville has been best battery I've ever bought... Have had good luck getting warranty exchanges at O'rielys... Not so happy that they've gone up in price about $50+

The yellow top is a deep cycle battery as already mentioned.
It can recover from a full discharge and is popular with drag racers who run their fans for long periods of time to cool down between races.
The red tops' have a bit more cranking power and both are excellent choices IMO.

I have really good experiences with both the Red TOP and Yellow Top batteries.
Ran the Red Top for 11 years in a DD with a 60 amp draw from a amplifier CB, finally replaced it just because I figured it was long enough, At the time it gave no indications of failing.
Yellow Top in the C6 now for 6 years or so and not a DD and on tender.

I had a red Top Optima that lasted 6 months before it died. Took it back and the parts store told me they have more warranty claims on Optima batteries than all other brands combined. I'll never get another one, over-priced and over-rated.

Got ahold of a bum red top yrs ago..gave it another try and drained a new one my fault, It was never right after that. All prior red tops were great
To those who have had yellow tops whats the difference in CCA? thinking of trying a yellow being as it can take charges (car sits a lot); most regular batteries dont seem to have enough juice to spin this wimpy sbc over like I want.
Worth it?
What about those smaller lighter batteries are they a track only deal? Reliable?

I believe the Yellow Top has 620 CCA and the Red Top has 720 CCA. Not positive though.
The Red Top definitely has more CCA but the Yellow Top has plenty for the C6 (more than the OEM battery).
