C6 Stereo swap out, Costs $$$
Just an fyi. I swapped my standard radio out of my '11 for the Nav Unit that was in that model. Used Kawals instructions and ton of advice/help from all the great people on this site. Went easier than thought. Had to bring it to Chevy dealer to program it to my vin. If you are wondering, the cost was $160. Just an fyi for those thinking of converting.

I'm guessing $160 to the dealer to program but we shall see...

Just an FYI.....Any shop with a snap on scanner can clear the old Vin and reset the radio. Typical cost is $45 and 2 min time. Paying the dealership to do it is a waste of time and money.

Your dealership raped you.
Mine was $79 plus tax, and I still think it's a lot for what they do to program the darn thing.

What's done is done but yes, $160.00 is a little high. I sold one of my old Navs to a forum member and suggested he ask if there was anyone with a Tech 11 that would help him out. He posted it in the regional section and got the required help. Takes all of 5 min to do but the dealer usually charges for an hour of labor, imagine that. Glad you got it done either way. Next time do a search and perhaps avoid some of the additional but not always necessary cost. Enjoy the new radio.

I also paid $160 to have this done. I know it was rape but I was loyal to my car dealership since they always did a good job with my car. But I know it takes 5 minutes....

Which model Pioneer? Any cables or adapters required? I have the plain old radio/cd with the AUX input. Would rather have an up-to-date unit with NAV and BlueTooth.

Heh...for $1k, you could have gotten a decent after market stereo with some decent speakers....all hardware included. What's done is done but that is a lot to pay for a nav unit.

My guess is the Pioneer 4200NEX. It's a good head unit and very popular seller. Myself, I went with the top of the line 8200nex. Got it from seller (tri-state audio) from Amazon for about $800. Scroll through and check out the audio section of the forum for more info. Also, the how-to section gives you some of the steps and pictures to do the install yourself, I think its titled replacing the navigation or installing aftermarket navigation. Here is a list of the stuff you will need to do the install if you want to do it yourself, or you can always take it to a shop. (these apply to any brand radio, not just Pioneer)
Here is all the stuff I bought for my install.
1- Pac Audio RP5-GM11 wiring harness with steering wheel controls
2- Metra 95-3304 double din face plate
3- Sirius XM SXV300v1 tuner (optional if you want Sirius XM) and Sirius XM 10ft antenna ext. cable (if u want to re-use factory antenna)
4- Pyle PCNM38FRV back up camera (was only $17 but works great)
5- A pack of crimp style cap connectors 22/18 gauge and a crimp plier (since I didn't have one)

The OP already went through this a while back and decided he wanted to stay with the factory unit. So I'm sure he is tired of hearing it. Some guys prefer not to go aftermarket and are willing to tolerate the flaws of the OEM unit in an effort to stay with the factory look.
