Sun visors broken on both sides
Anyone else with this same issue?
On one side I have this clip that's holding down the sun visor light button so that way it doesn't turn on the vanity light. On the other side it's pressed up at the roof release handle to also keep the light off.
Anyone have cheap solutions for this? I was thinking of just unplugging those lights entirely.
And has anyone accidentally killed their battery because of the sun visor light being activated all night?

I replaced the passenger vanity assembly with one from a Pontiac G8 after having the cover hinges broken on it for a 3rd time.
The ones from the G8 have a built in vanity cover within the sunvisor, and it's sturdy, not cheap like the one from the C6.
The driver side sunvisor vanity assembly, I removed the assembly and in it's place, I installed a back up camera monitor.
Here is a pic of both.

Had same issue, cheap ******* bastards can't design a ******* mirror cover hinge that wont break. EVERY CAR MIRROR!!!!! EVERY CAR!!!!
what makes me SOO Angry is that it's such a stupid problem, you'd think with all of our technology and engineering advancements, that they could make a plastic bullshit tab out of metal so it won't break...
Had to pay 120 dollars for a new visor... and that was used if i remember correctly..
Yes you can unplug them too alternatively, its a pain in the *** to remove it though, so alternatively you can take out the light cover and explode the bulbs and put the cover back. If you do take it out and unplug it, i'd tape the two ends together in case you ever decide to get a new one you can have easy access to the plug otherwise it will get lost in the abyss of the frame.

Whatever you do (or don't) all the (oem) lights should time out at ~20 minutes after shutdown. Your battery shouldn't run down because of this.

I bought some narrow velcro strips about 1/2 wide and sold at Target, just velcroed it and it stays shut all the time hardly noticeable, of course it's not used anymore.

I went to hobby lobby and got 4 mini brass hinges that are used for doll houses, they come with small screws. Simply line it up and turn the screws in by hand with a small Phillips screw driver, then get some black paint and paint them black ( painting them before install would have been smarter) . I used a small patch of velcro to hold them shut . Takes about 30min per side.

If a multi billion dollar corporation can't produce a tiny hinge out of metal that cost 2 cents for them, then they deserve to be cursed at.
