Returning to the OP's question, here's how to get better gas mileage:
-- Do not accelerate quickly
-- Do not drive above 70 MPH
-- Cruise at a steady speed in the 40-55MPH range, without stopping or speeding up
-- Use cruise control whenever it is safe to do so.
-- In general, drive it as if you were down to your last nickel, last quarter-tank of gas, and are almost home for the holidays, i.e., like a 1967 VW Bus missing on one cylinder.

These, of course, are all things I rarely, if ever, do. It's a Corvette. More fun = less mileage. Therefore, I:
-- Accelerate quickly whenever possible. (It's almost always possible.)
-- Try to keep it under 100 in heavy traffic.
-- Accelerate from time to time while cruising just for heck of it.
-- Use cruise control only when I'm wanting to concentrate more on music, what's on the radio, the view or a conversation with my passenger, or if it's a long road trip.
-- Drive it as if I may never get to drive it again, as if there's always another gas station not far off, and as if I can always afford another full tank of premium.

Does that answer your question?

Good lists.

One thing that will NOT increase your MPG: Ripping the LS motor out and replacing it with a 2017 Toyota Tacoma 4-cylinder engine -- it will get about 2 MPG less than it is getting now.

To be honest, I have no idea what my display shows for gas mileage. I've never checked nor have I ever reset it since I've owned it.

Ha, to be fair, I used to regularly get 28mpg in my Eclipse GSX when I ran pump gas and it made over 500 hp on E85 just by turning up the boost. But I'm also looking forward to not having to do anything but put gas in my Vette and get that kind of mileage. I'll be plenty happy if I just have a couple of small power upgrades these days.

I'm actually more proud of getting bad gas mileage with my vette. It means I'm driving it correctly.

I don't know if this is a real post, or a troll....

17+ what? 18 what? In the city, in a small town, on the freeway, racing at the drags, what trans, what year, what is your driving style, what kind of gas, and WHY DO YOU WANT TO KNOW??? WHAT IS YOUR OBJECTIVE?

You gotta give us some help here if you want really good answers...

My MPG stays around 25, mixed driving. If I'm on the intestate and clear it I will see low 30's.

I run stp fuel injector cleaning every oil change
Why would the addition of a quality CAI, headers, 3" crossovers and free flowing exhaust cause gas mileage to decrease?? With the addition of the above mentioned parts and a good tune improve gas mileage under highway cruise conditions?? I'm confused! Xplain this to me Lucy!

Default Gas Mileage

I would kill for 17 MPG. If I'm lucky I might get 17 at 55 mph with no stops. I get around 11.5 in town and about 14 on the hwy.

I a fairly new to a C6, I have only had mine for a few months a M6 GS. I remember reading people getting in the 30s. I average 13-14.9 mpg, I'm still hoping to hit that 15 mpg mark. The sound of the exhaust is too good to short shift it.

You did it wrong. I made a 4000+ mile trip to Cali and back, and averaged about 18 mpg.

Referring to the OP's original question, when I bought my C6 two and a half years ago the first thing that came to mind was definitely NOT "what kind of gas mileage improvements can I make?" Go buy a Toyota Prius.

How to get better fuel mileage in a C6?
Inflate tires to 32psi cold, instead of 30.

What is my average MPG?
Don't know, don't care. Too busy listening to the chorus that is a 7k redline.

I have a GS and on the highway I get 25-26
around town I'll get 20-23
on a race track I get 12-14
But the sound and power of the vettes it is hard to drive it where you can get decent gas mileage. Because you're always on the throttle listening to it. 😀👍
