Depreciation rate of late model C6s?
I figure it is currently about $200 a month. I'm talking about 2010 - 2013. Not the ZR1, I have no idea what it is doing.
What do you think?
Small price to pay for owning such a car...

That sounds about right. I really don't care to much about it's depreciation. I keep the car in good shape and enjoy driving it every chance I get. If it's worth 5k less when I sell it, so be it.
I think the c6 will do well, especially the wide body cars. The c7 was such a drastic change that the c6 still attracts a lot of buyers. The c6 is also easier and cheaper to mod.

On C7 I suggested if/when word got out re A8 & their potential issues, and the repercussions w/ plummeting resale value one would've thought I murdered a kitten. It's just common sense if the unwashed masses catch wind of this selling A8 equipped vehicles will be *challenging*. The very dealers selling these cars will be the first to reject 'em on trade and/or offer money so low as to be laughable.
Personally my heart goes out to all who bought a C7 w/ A8.
They paid a premium to own what for most amounts to a dream in complete faith only to have to deal w/ this matter often again and again, and each time car's out-of-service for gawd knows how long while payments must continue.
Talk about a bitter, souring experience.
Is it any wonder GM's in discussions to discounting several models across their lines, further abdicating market share, when warranty costs decay their profit margins?
GM has some terrible woe coming their way due to this and by extension A8 owners, who IMO have paid enough.

I appreciate my C6. In fact, I appreciate just about all the C6s. I don't appreciate those murdered out black ones because they look fugly. Mostly, its the black wheels that are fugly. But when you try to copy the ricer boys with several cans of plastidip and nothing better to do, that's just lame.

If you purchase ANY car and you are worrying about its depreciation, you are an idiot. Cars depreciate no matter what. They get miles on them, they age, and newer models come out. Stop worrying about it, drive your car, and enjoy it. You will never gain money on a car; you will always lose it.

But you are gonna bring out the black wheel lovers in groves with your very accurate description.....LOL. Whats so bad is that not even the ricers look good with black wheels. A ricer with black wheels just looks like a....well....a ricer with black wheels....no harm done.....but a C-6 with black wheels just looks WRONG !!!!!!!..........

That is a great comment, grady. My CE gets so many compliments, it is almost embarrassing. I hated black wheels until I got the CE. I still think chrome has it's place, but the execution of the CE was flawless, including the black wheels.

Exactly my thoughts! The Carbon Flash Metallic with its almost black look sitting atop of the black finished wheels with the center caps and the rest of the car all make for one amazing car. It’s my favorite corvette ever produced. I particularly love Black 2010-2013 GS’s but the Centennial edition GS just does something special for me. Can’t wait to join you in owning one!

Agree but drove my C3's for ten years and made a good profit, even had a few bidders on one of them.

I'm partial to the CE too, I think it's the best looming vette since the chrome bumper c3, and ever since. But I may be biased... on account of owning one and all.
I think the different sheens of black give it a very nice look. It has a hint of contrast that makes it a lot more visually interesting. A friend at work had seen the car probably 20 times before they finally realized it has stripes. And my car has hash markss too that subtlety blend in.
Different strokes though. At least we can all agree that taillight louvers and caliper covers are bad!

Just got my C6Z earlier this month. I like the C7 and C8. But the C6 is my first vette. So when it is time to get another vette, it will be a C6Z. Hoping to get one under 20k...10 years from now.

Judging by C5 Z06 prices that doesn't sound likely, at least for a good one. They're now all 15+ years old, how much have they depreciated in the last 5 and how much will they go down in the following 5? (The answer to both is approximately zero for the good ones)

Why not just take care of the one you got an keep it? That's what all the cool people are doing these days.
