Default Ohio to El Paso via C6

Anyone done any long distance traveling in their C6 GS? If so, how tolerable is it? Made this trip last year in a Ford Explorer, and it was quite comfortable. That's an apples to oranges comparison I know. I'm just trying to get some idea of what it would be like to spend that kind of time in the saddle of a 2012 C6.

I find the C6 (and C5) seats to be the most comfortable (for my back for sure) on very long trips than most other cars. Only draw back is they are not as quiet as other cushy cars.

Well, I've driven across the US twice from MD, including a visit to my peeps in El Paso ( I used to live there), also up and down the eastern seaboard, to FL and back, to the Midwest several times, (I'm sure I forgot a few trips somewhere), I would say this car is one of the best out there to go long distances.

Oh a couple of trips to Canada ...

I just finished my first long (over 1000 mile) road trip in my Z51 and have to say that it's surprisingly comfortable on the highways. That tight suspension makes driving in town feel like you are in a sports car, but the long distance cruising at >70mph is smooth and quiet with the NPP closed. Averaging 27 mpg on the trip is another plus!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have well over a dozen transcontinental trips in numerous other vehicles, and not a single one of those were half as enjoyable.

Just got back from my third 2400 mile round trip to Kentucky this year. Went to Shreveport last year. Very enjoyable! Heavy rain is no problem. GS mpg is a little behind base models because of the gear ratio but I managed 28 on one trip and 27 on the most recent with terrible weather. Nothing to worry about.

At least once a year we make a 2 or 3 thousand mile trip in our 13 GS convertible and there are no comfort issue at all. I have driven a 10 hour day, got out and experienced no aches or pain.

I've had 11 road trips between 2.5K and 8K miles. There have been lots more, but I don't consider anything less than 2.5K a real road trip. Given a choice, both my wife and I prefer the Vette for longer distance trips over our Caddy.

As much as I like to drive my car, I try and take it on all of the trips we take. Several in the 2500 mile range so far.

Wife and I did a round trip to Key West in March from the Dallas area (2011 GS). Thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not a Caddy, but it isn't supposed to be. We were also Long Haulers in the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour. It's a fun road car.

I'm driving my 11 GS from St. Louis to N.W. Pa tomorrow morning. I've made this trip several times driving corvettes. The runcrap tires are a little noisy, but other than that, it's like sitting in a leather recliner and enjoying the day.

I drove my 11 GS round trip to and back from Ohio last summer. I enjoyed every minute of it. The only problem I had was the tendency to speed(just a little) on open highways.....

And you'll get there quicker if you drive the Grand Sport vs. your Ford Explorer.
