Guy on a motorcycle tries to keep up with a Vette
#21
i really can't stand the sport bikes, no matter what car i'm driving they always seem to pass me in a no pass zone to get in the half car length i have in front of me...
most times i see one they do something stupid. then complain if you don't use a blinker and their life is in danger.

Any liter bike would win in this 'race'. It's not that a Vette can't be any bike but it can't beat any of the top dogs in sports bikes today. A modern sports bike may weigh 435 lbs ready to ride and have 170+ rwhp. You do the math.

These videos are dumb. All this was a experience driver schooling a squid.
It's a fz-09 naked bike 847cc(115hp/65tq 3cylinder),it's about as fast a gsxr750 on the low mid range. About as fast a flashed 600cc ss for straight line performance....

Actually,
Stop the video 1:25 in... It looks to be a stock C6 coupe. Look at the rear fenders, and you can almost make out the split of the targa top.
I have an fz-07, and I know for a fact on a highway pull a normal c6 rips away no problem. I don't see an fz-09 doing much better.
Also: I live in CT, I know this guy. He's a total d-bag.

As a long time conservative motorcyclist I'm kinda jealous because I've never ridden like that on public roads and would like to try it just once but won't.
As a C6 owner I really enjoyed the way that Z06 disappeared - what a great machine.
As an intelligent human being I recognize the video, while entertaining, stars two complete idiots.

Well, it sounds like the bike was maybe a 600, maybe. Now, I love my base c6, but my Hayabusa would have smoked that Z. Now, a vette that can do better than 9.6 in quarter, then it would be close. Also, in the curves if damp, the bike becomes quite slippery as it only has 2 tires or about 75% less rubber to the road and would be handicapped there, but in the straights or dry road, see ya!! Any lane crossing even a little becomes very dangerous for anyone, especially bikes. On Mulholland drive in the Los Angeles mountains, there is a wreck due to some idiot in a car crossing the yellow line on a regular basis. I would never drive like the guy in this video or as everyone said he was driving. I also don't wheelie, just get on it now and then, just like I do the vette.

What is funny no one is commenting on the guy going faster, just the slower guy on the bike.
That is like watching in slow motion. I have a Zwak ZX10R(dynos at 172 RWH) and a Concours 14(dynos at 150 RWH) that would give him a new definition of speed.
I just ordered my next bike, the H2 Kawasaki.
Specs:
The Kawasaki Ninja H2 is a "supercharged supersport" class motorcycle in the Ninja sportbike series, manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, featuring a variable-speed centrifugal-type supercharger. The ...
Wikipedia
Top speed: 331–400 km/h (206–249 mph)
Engine: Supercharged (two-speed centrifugal) 998 cc inline-4 DOHC
Weight: 476.0 lb (215.9 kg) (wet)
Torque: 115 lb·ft (156 N·m) @12,500 rpm
Compression ratio: 8.3:1
Power: 310 hp (230 kW) @14,000 rpm
Actually I am getting the street version when reflashed it will only dyno out at about 250 RWH. And top out at maybe 220 MPH.

The safety issue here is that you can't control what happens around and you at that speed you likely can't stop or manuver fast enough to avoid a unknown. I ride a lot of miles each year and I know how easy and tempting it is to really push it on roads you know well, but it's dangerous because of the unknowns that crop up without warning.

And then when the guy on the bike crashes into someone head on, his motorcycle attorney sues the guy he hits because "its the cars" fault.
