Default Show Your Creative Low Cost or No Cost DIY Corvette Projects (Pics if Poss.)

All of us come up with some creative things for our Corvettes from the Inside to the Outside to Under the Hood

Even into the garage from homemade ramps to homemade jacking pucks etc.

So I thought maybe we could share some Corvette DIY's - could either share a Pic of it or Describe it as much as possible

-OR- have improved upon something that you bought for the Vette, being INNOVATIVE -

The list could be endless, so have fun.

I have made endless things for my C5 from Jacking Pucks to my own Homemade Cradle Jack to sheet-metal projects for the F/I it had etc. - But Photobucket has all but destroyed so many of those write-ups

I'm working on a few things for the C6 and will share later on as well!

Thanks,Matt

Wrapped the battery cover, fuse box cover and my exhaust plate with 3D CF. Probably the least expensive thing I've done (under $10 & both were done a while back)

Here is one that I did with my Battery Tender.

I extended the wires and ran it under my Battery Cover from American Car Craft so that I can just plug it in when it is sitting and after it's doe it just lays down by the rest of the wires out of the way (as you can see in the 2nd pic)- just something simple and so that I don't have to remove the cover!

Thanks,Matt

Finally got around to running the connection for battery tender out the front grill so I don't have to open the hood every time, this works great & I just fold it back into an opening in the grill when not in use...

Connection for battery tender, lower front of grill

Here is my contribution. I made a divider from styrofoam insulation from Home Depot covered with head liner material. Total cost less than $15.00. It has been in place for at least six years with no problems.

Default Custom Painted Caliper Covers - Blue

Since I wanted a set of MGP Calipr Covers and wanted them in BLUE and it cost so much more to buy a set over the standard Red, Black, and Silver colors -

I decided to keep my eye open for set of used MGP Caliper Covers, purchase those and paint them the color of my choice, BLUE, and hand paint the lettering the color of my choice BLACK

So I found a set in fantastic shape and they were "Black and Silver" as pictured below, so I set out to paint them BLUE and the Lettering BLACK as seen in the pictures below - saved a decent amount of money too!

(1) Used MGP Covers - $100
(2) VHT Blue Hi-Temp Engine Paint - $10
(3) Testors Black Enamel Paint - Already had it, maybe $3

Thanks,Matt

That might be one of the best ideas I have ever seen.

I did not like the front license plate location - so I took the stock piece they wanted to screw to the nose of the C6 and made a bracket and offset it to the passenger side -

Used a small aluminum backing plate on the backside of the panel, pice of aluminum for the bracket and bolted that to the stock C6 license plate holder -

It does not block any airflow to the radiator and does not rub -

See the pics below -

Thanks,Matt
