Tough call. What are the production numbers of a Centennial edition 2012 vs a 60th anniversary 427 vert? I have seen the 96 Grand Sport C4 command a high dollar amount at Mecum auctions with very low miles. The 50th anniversary low mileage C5 with the shale interior gets a few dollars more over a regular C5. If your on the fence with a C6 vs C7 you sure won't get your money back with a C7. They can't give those things away now, sales are way down.

I'd say that's a pretty good price. I've seen similar cars go for $40k with the same miles and options. Both tops? Black or chrome wheels?

Have any Corvettes made after early 70s ever gone up in value?
(serious question, no snark)

x2 ck back in 40 yrs if gas cars are even around
sold a 73 in the 90s for 6500 on a real good day it might be worth a thou or two more. Worrying about nothing despite what you see some ads say. Its a used car.
Even if it did by then youll still lose after registration ins maintenance.

I have a GS CE 'vert and it is a great car. I get a lot of questions about it as you don't see many of them. Loaded with options and looks amazing. Will it go up in price, I would say no, I expect to loose money on it. I will say this though, you will most likely loose more on a regular GS.
37k for a 40kmi car with auto sounds like a good price to me if it's in good shape and well maintained, I presume it is a coupe?

Depends on how you look at it. The market for all C3s has gone up, but they're not worth more than they were new. C4's are beginning to go up in price as well. They're not really "going up in value", more of recovering value. I don't know that even most chrome bumper cars are worth more now than when new (adjusted for inflation).

Struggle with Corvettes is volume. I live in walking distance of Barrett Jackson, and have spent lots of years there watching auctions. I've seen beautiful 63 split window coupes struggle to make $100K, yet, let a 63 Ferrari or 63 911 up there and they'll go for astronomical money. Even though Vette owners might call the 63 rare, by the rest of the auto market standards, even those are mass produced. Now project that onto this 2012 GS.

Are you kidding? My friend bought a new 1973 at the time for $6200. He just sold it in all original mint condition with 15k on the clock. Price he got? $32,500

I think all Grandsports will go up in price. I bought 2 of them, Black one and a Torch Red, Currently I am asking $90,000 for the black one and $88,000 for the Red one. if they dont sell, I dont really care - cuz I am enjoying driving them every day of the week and I have about 22 more years to live, by then I dont care what they sell for.

Does your friend have that buyer's name? I have a 2009 C6 base with 55K miles in Victory red, I'll reluctantly part with for $110,000. Tell your friend there is $10,000 in it for him as a finders.
Seriously, the best 73 I've seen was priced at $26K, a 454/275 HP.....why???

Maybe for someone "my friend" but I have far better things to do with $32000 than a 1973 Corvette, and it wouldn't make any difference if someone bought it new in 73, stored in in an air conditioned warehouse for 44 years and sold it as a brand new car.
